Bargain price for an unlimited high speed usenet service.

I used usenetserver for 6 years continuous and was paying $15pm. I left last year because of an offer for $11pm with astraweb, however, I was thinking of going back to usenetserver because I miss the great search facility and nzb packing service thats given free.

PLUS...... All new accounts are given a free 14 day trial.... so the first month, your $10 buys you six weeks access - or simply cancel within and owe nothing.

All in all a steal.

If you're unsure what usenet is about... ask away.... or google is your friend too!

Have fun.....

I have been on this deal for a long time now. its great. only thing you need to look out for is when you are issued a new credit/debit card as you will need to change you details before your next payment goes out otherwise it will revert to the standard price.
Been using Usenetserver for past 3+ years. Excellent newsgroup provider, never had single problem with their service.
Bit of a noob question, but what do they actually do?
Currently with Astraweb paying $11 a month, perfectly happy with them, is UseNetServer drastically better for any reason? Good deal though either way!

The OP mentions a search function that's really good. what's that all about then?

They do still have the search and NZB packing thingy don't they? (I know I put it in the OP - and was 100% accurate when I was with them 5 or 6 months ago.

it look like it does although i have never used it before as there are other free websites that will make my nzb files.
The search and nzb packer is why I am going to go back FROM astraweb to usenetserver.

Just whack in your search parameter (which can be filtered to certain newsgroups if required), then tick what you want and select "download nzb". You now have an nzb file to load into altbinz just as you would if you used nzb matrix etc

It really is a good feature. As I said, I had been thinking of leaving my $11 deal with astra and going back at $15pm..... so @ $10 its a no brainer!

Well i'm sold, I suppose it's ~£6 a year when all said and done, might aswell have an extra 2 pints a year!
Unsure if this is a rolling $10 a month or if it goes upto $15, when signing up it mentions '1 month special' so i'm thinking it'll leap up again after the month?
rolling $10, unless your card changes gets rejected
this seems like a really good deal for unlimited usenet, and the packing feature sounds nice

i used to have an unlimited plan with another provider but found that i was just downloaditng stuff for the sake of it, so i changed to a block account provider and just download what i really want now

usenet-news and nzbs r u for nzbs -- seems to work out best for me
for me. The web interface and zip manager is a great feature.
I just received this offer by email ... so it's still on!
anyone using them still?
ssl anygood with them?
So I can cancel this any time, its not like a minimum of a year or anything? Was thinking of going for this over the newsdemon deal as it has some bad reviews on forums. This seems like a better deal than the astraweb one even though its cold.
You can cancel at any time. You are paying monthly in advance so, if you want to cancel best to do it day before monthly payment date. You can see clearly what that date is in your account page.
This deal seems to still be going, i might sign up. Do they still offer the free search facility?
