Spoke to Virgin customer services today and they have V= Box back for 1/2 price :)
Can be added to their XL deal on special also for 1st 6 months!
I am looking for a cheaper / better option to our present Sky+, HD comes with XL, box is covered as long as a customer not just 12 months like Sky!
XL also includes free music videos, HD, iPlayer and TV on Demand - What more do you need all this with free 01, 02 03 calls and 20 Mb fibre optic broadband:)
Not online need to phone for V+ Deal - 0845 840 7777

Do you have to pay an installation charge on top of this? Is this an extra box to go in to another room or just an upgraded box. Sorry Im naive about this sort of thing and Im looking to add TV to another room to keep the children happy.

Above link is for XL package £49 for 1st 6 mths then £56:

Upto 20mb fibre optic BB
145 TV channels inc Setanta, HD, iPlayer. V+ warranty as long as a customer
24/7 landline calls to 01,02,03, 0800
Inc 'Talk Mobile' for £1.50 a month and get 25% off mobile calls

I currently have BT and Sky+ and pay on average £63/month (No HD channels, iPlayer, Setanta or on demand) get a friends acct no and both get £50 as well:)

So only save about £7/mth after initial 6 mth trial but with all extras - I think a good deal and will be giving Sky my 30 days notice :)

£75 inc the £30 installation. Check to see if you can get cable by putting your postcode into VM site. As far as i know this is a set top box like Sky+ to pause, rec live TV etc. Also with XL deal get all the channels the kids could ever want - Dunno I think it sounds good?

I spoke to someone from Retentions tonight as i recently switched broadband from them to Sky as i already have Sky HD.

They offered me half price broadband and two V+ boxes installed for £90 to try and get me to stay.

If your already on Virgin Media and fancy this....then give them a call and say you are thinking of going to Sky for the Sky+.... you are put through to retentions department and you can talk them round to giving it to you for free! If your already on XL package then there is no monthly charge for this. V+ holds 80 hours of recordings.

BTW did this for my Dad about a month ago and he had it installed a week later!

Be VERY...VERY careful in your choice as I have had a V+ HD Box sat in its box since last christmas! it is so slow it is unbelievable!!!! we gave up in the end (had three new boxes, each one had the same problem) and went back to freeview, I am still paying £5 per month until the 12 month contract runs out!
