They came for water. And for food. And as it turned out, we were the food. but humanity bravely resisted - a struggle seen in the hit miniseries V and V: The Final Battle. Yet the war continues.

The heroic conflict comes to a surprising outcome in V: The Series, presented complete and uncut in this 19 episode set. Once again, Earth is the main battleground. But now the aliens whose human guise hides their true reptillian natures are wiser. They believe the secret to their survival on Earth lies in the DNA of the newly born half-human, half-spaceling Starchild. They intend to capture her. But that's something the world's Resistance Fighters cannot allow.

The saga that began in V - The Mini series now culminates in a struggle to save the world from alien domination in V - The Final Battle. The visitors continue manipulating world opinion but some women are horrified to learn that they are pregnant with alien babies. The rebels continue their mission to expose the aliens and the first "V" for victory rally call is heard. Donovan (Marc Singer) exchanges himself for his son's release, having being captured by the visitor's second in command, Diana (Jane Balder). in the grisly creature conversion chamber, Diana tortures him with truth serum injections in a desperate attempt to learn the identity of the rebels undermining her plans. But the rebels are dedicated to freeing the world from total domination. the future begins or ends here!

Great show, bought the box set just before Xmas and watched the lot in about a week. Even better news is that it looks like a new series is to be made!!

Taken from a review on Play.com..

Stunning show - poor quality DVD

I had been waiting for this show to arrive on DVD ever since the original mini-series was released. The original mini-series was given a stunning digital transfer, 16:9 widescreen with stereo sound. However, this series was not so fortunate. Non digital transfer (from video - with a slight flickering at the top, from time to time), 1.0 mono sound and in 4:3 picture format. Although the show is still as good today as it was in 1984/1985, I believe that Warner Brothers Entertainment could have done a better job with this DVD release.

As in this one I've posted??

EDIT: My god. Just read up on it. I never knew. I could've sworn there was an end. Funny how ones mind works.

Now, did they ever get home in Dungeons and Dragons?

Was axed before the last episode was filmed...

You can read a bit about the unfilmed last episode HERE

The show got cancelled before they filmed that episode.

But you can read if they did or not HERE

And Quantum Leap finished fairly prematurely too....although they did commission two endings, one to wrap it up and one if the network decided to keep it going for another season!

I actually remember watching V The Complete series when I was at school it was on ITV like really late, my mom used to let me stop up and it was a school night, and I remember it suddenly stopping without any conclusion, and fully expecting ITV to resume scheduling later on in the year or something, without the power of the internet to find answers back then I just assumed that ITV never bought the rights or I had somehow missed a subsequent season...until recent research!

The Mini-series was fantastic, the series was awful if I remember correcttly. Very cheesy and ultra low budget melodrama as opposed to the heartstopping mini-series.

The little green hybrid baby gave me VERY bad nightmares I'm ashamed to admit. I've seen the clip of it now and it's incredibly silly. Weird how your mind works when your a kid! :p

Heat for the original mini and the final battle DVD's though

Heat for the good post, I kind of want it in the complete boxset but it represents a £7 saving. Nice one
