I wonder if you could set this boiler up to only heat the water for the radiators? My current boiler is a combi and I don't use my hot taps. I have an electric shower and a kettle for my hot water needs. I do not want to go back to having a hot water tank.

Do you not wash your hands? Running hot water is a basic health and safety requirement.

Up until the spring this year I worked in a hospital laboratory and once a year I had to take a hand washing test to comply with one of the many regulations. I passed the test each year and only ever used cold water. Our ancestors survived OK before hot running water otherwise we wouldn't be here.

Nearly 800 notes elsewhere, has to be an error but good luuck all! ;) Heat added.

Yes has to be a misprice. Never understand why people say "in it to win it". All you are doing is giving a company all your details and possibly paying out and then waiting to get refunded. Best that can happen is you get the item or they cancel your order.

If it's £800 elsewhere absolutely no chance anyone will get this at this price.

The other thing is, if you have found a genuine misprice that's ridiculously cheaper than anywhere else and you want the item why on earth would you post on a popular UK website for all the chancers to capitalise on before you had actually received the item?

When did we suddenly become a nation of altruists? 90% of my eBay customers don't leave feedback and a lot of drivers haven't grasped the point of indicators.

Look forward to this utopia of the UK with considerate and basically decent people.

When does it start?

I just bought a Vaillant EcoTech 624 boiler to replace an ageing Gloworm. I paid £2100 including fitting so this is a good price.
The thing is so quiet and efficient. My installer said they use slightly less gas than a Worcester Bosch and are currently the number one manufacturer.
The components inside Vaillant boilers are also easier to access from a maintenance perspective apparently.
I would definitely recommend one with a Nest thermostat as the ultimate heating combination.

Sorry, but If you are talking ultimate the heating controller would have to be a zoning type like Evohome etc. Controllers like Nest, Hive, Tado et al do nothing to do away with the inherent flaw in your existing set up - whole house on or whole house off. You wouldn't be daft enough to consider a 'smart' light switch that turned ALL your house lights on or off, would you?

Th 5yr warranty is only if its installed by a Vaillaint approved installer and that you have it serviced yearly and logged in your warranty book.

Otherwise its just a 2 year warranty I think.

Depends on what you want to use it for, I'm not expert, but I have a 25kw in my 3 bed house, so I'm guessing this 12kw must be for a 1 bed flat or bedsit?

no brainer really just need to see if easily swapped over, also can you still use your own thermostat/heating with a new boiler or do you need a new 1 to match the boiler make?

if you are replacing like with like KW wise then im sure it will be ok, you either want to go same or higher but never lower than you currently have

Could try a calculator....like http://calculators.baxiknowhow.co.uk/boiler-sizing/
There are questions on that calc that I'm not sure of, but there are probably other guides on the net.

Each fitter has their favourite and Vaillaint have been one of the better makes like Wocester Bosch. IDEAL have had some poor models but now they are making some good boilers 10 years warranty based on Vaillaint designs.

I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect boiler.

What makes the biggest impact in the boiler life is the install. If its installed well and properly then it will aid its life.

I would recommend installing one of those sludge inhibitor thingies (I'm very non-technical lol) with any new boiler.

I would definitely recommend one with a Nest thermostat as the ultimate heating combination.

Not sure about this model, but my Vokera only requires 2 wires to be connected to trigger the boiler, and two for the power. I first installed a Salus, before finally buying and installing a Nest.

Would be great if it was. Got to be in it to win it (I'm old enough to remember the naysayers in the Kodak error but went ahead anyway!)

I know, fingers crossed for people that actually need one, hopefully they wont be bagged to be sold on

buy a boiler one step higher in power for your house. don't make it work hard to make it last longer.

Does this hat hot water too?

Buy a boiler that's sized to your requirement...not a bit more/the same size as the old/bigger is better.

This could quite happily run a 3 bed semi.

There's one in stock in Wrexham if anyone is interested, I don't care how cheap they are, would never fit a Vaillant.

This is a system boiler, only for use with an unvented pressurised cylinder, no good if you are thinking to swap it for your combi or regular boiler

this has got to be a misprice, but thats for posting OP
