Been weighing up between the Vaio P and NC10 and have managed to bag the former at an incredible price.

List price at Additions Direct is £679 (rrp listed is £799)
Using the code XX919 you get 15% off (it's a Littlewoods code but works fine) - takes this down to £581.10
Quidco offer 8% on Additions - so that comes down to £534.93
Sony are running a £150 cashback offer until end of November - so that brings it down to £384.93.

I've ordered, had my Quidco tracked and expect to get the laptop today!

Here are the specs as listed on the Additions site:
Intel Atom Z530 processor. 2Gb DDR2 RAM. 60Gb hard drive. 8in widescreen X-black LCD display with 1600 x 768 resolution. Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500. 802.11 a/b/g/Draft n WiFi. Built-in 0.3Mp Motion Eye webcam. Built-in stereo speakers. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. White.

Shouldnt include quidco in the price. Not guaranteed and not everyone uses it.
#3

i personally dont fancy netbooks
#4
voted hot for the price but product has had a lot of negative reviews. Happy with my vaio tt:)

Try XX056 (20% off)
Brings it down to £349 including quidco. Watch out with quidco though, as recently a lot of my additions transactions haven't tracked.

I wouldn't touch voucher codes from these guys with a bargepole.

Set up one of those temporary payment cards and you're safe from them charging you back I suppose.

Rubisco - what makes you say that?
If you have paid via credit card and have dispatched the item they have no clawback do they?
#8
How do you claim the Sony Cashback??

Yes they do. It's in their terms and conditions. And the way that they take payment from you makes it legal for them to charge you the voucher amount at a later date.

i.e. They charge you the full amount, then immediately refund you the voucher value. This makes the refund a separate transaction which they can claw back if they decide that you weren't entitled to it. That way the original full amount charged is legally the amount you paid in your contract, the voucher is merely a bonus that you may or may not be entitled to.

Interesting. Thanks for that.
What time period are we talking about?
I ask as my orginal order was cancelled due to a mix up by them.
When I spoke to a supervisor they advised that i would have to re-order again as they didn't retain my cc details...

I,ve been looking at the P-Series for the missus...
Couple of things; firstly, I think Sony's Cashback is with certain retailers only, go to play.com to get a copy of the claim form.
Secondly, this is the 'dogs nuts' if you like beautiful things. The Specs are mediocre.

obviously you havent read the famous "littlewoods chargeback" saga a couple years ago...

They can and sometimes do charge you the voucher codes money back, perhaps months after you receive item.
Also as people say completely unreliable getting money from them on Quidco (As seems most cashback these days, they have had the cheek to take my £5 today membership fee, which has taken me 4 months to get to on small purchase, and the 3 purchases
(1) for £40 just taken off my account after being validated and then when due for payment disappeared from my account, with the excuse they can not do anything about it.
(2) £50 insurance cash back, rolling over to next month.
(3) £50 Insurance cashback awaiting payment but has been validated.

Bal - just spoken to Sony and they have confirmed that the cashback does apply to Additions Direct/Littlewoods.
As for concerns about voucher codes, I'll wait nevoursly :>)

Might not happen, it's fine more often than not, it's just the fact that it can happen that puts me off. If you can find out exactly where and when the voucher code was published it will help. That way if they ring you up asking questions you'll have your story straight.

Just one of the many stories about the robbing bar stewards at Shop Direct (which includes Littlewoods, Additions, Marshall Ward, Woolworths (new rebrand) and others.)

I would never advise anyone ever use them. Aside from the voucher fiasco, which they scam people with over and over again, they have appalling customer service, their websites and tech support are terrible, they say things are in stock when they're not, they fail to deliver.... the list goes on.
Worst company/group I've ever had the misfortune to deal with.

Order at your peril...

does this have a slot for sim card for mobile broadband?

Scanner - yes it does

do you think it will be possible to get a free windows 7 upgrade?

but i suppose you will need some kind of voucher from the retailer in order for this which additions are not offering
#21
Heat and Rep added.

I know these vouchers are a bit notorious for paying up, but alhamdulillah I haven't encountered a problem yet. Ordered one.

Good value if everything pays up Voucher, Quidco (already tracking) and Sony cashback.

What is the model number for this model, I bought the black one but i dont know what the model number is?

thanks

I have never had a problem with discount codes, Quidco cash back or customer service with Additions Direct.

Why waste your cash, buy an NC10 and upgrade the RAM. Then you have a cheap, but brilliant Netbook for a lot less!

Yes you will. I received my Vaio today from Additions Direct and used the Serial Number to pre-register for the Windows 7 upgrade.
