Saw this today with lots of other slashed games. But this stood out for its cheapness.

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe - divided in two and ruled by the Empire and the Federation. The Empire has set its sights on invading a small neutral country called Gallia, which is situated in the middle of the two great empires. The game follows a hero named Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federations 7th Platoon as they engage in a series of epic battles.

Built upon the new "CANVAS" engine, developed internally by SEGA Game Studios Japan, Valkyria Chronicles stunning 3D graphics resemble a watercolor painting in motion, taking full advantage of the processing capabilities of the PLAYSTATION 3. The power of the PLAYSTATION 3 also allows the development team to exploit the full potential of this new engine, giving players many different stunning environments to explore. A new type of tactical battle mechanic has been specifically designed for Valkyria Chronicles. Known as "BLiTZ," this gives players freedom to strategically move around the environment and attack enemies using real-time controls, something never before seen in the tactical role-playing game genre. The new "CANVAS" engine technology, the "BLiTZ" battle concept and an epic storyline offers players hours of exciting gameplay.

VERY HOT! Not really my cup of tea but £12 for one of the BEST games on the PS3 deserves some heat!

Thats a bit of a contradiction. Good games are subjective and clearly you don't think its a good game.

I picked up this game about 6 months ago after all the rave reviews. Played about 30 minutes haven't touched it since, so BEST game on PS3? extermely debatable.

Will have a look in my local Tesco.

Did they have many copies, dapunk?

I picked up Disgaea 3 for £10 in ASDA the other week.

OMG, thats shocking! Especially since Disgaea 1 & 2 were so collectable. I wonder where KOEI went wrong with this one?

i was a disgaea fan before the ps3 version. The problem with the PS3 version is it's not much different from the ps2 version. They didn't change and of the graphics which is a shame because they wasted the power of the ps3. They could have released this on a ps2 and people would have liked it better.

You'd expect Disgaea not to sell in ASDA though. It's not your typical generic, big-name ASDA title. Anyone looking for it would likely go online or into a dedicated game store. The majority of ASDA game purchases are probably parents buying for kids and casual gamers. Spontanious purchases in all likelyhood.

I recently bought Disgaea 2 for £14 new online :?

It's not a contradiction because I am not saying its a bad game, I'm just saying I'm not a huge fan of RPG's...Where I got the 'one of the best games' from is reading reviews (On Metacritic) and it scores very highly on almost all reviews...So millions can't be wrong but ONLY if you like this style of game...SImple.

voted cold...these deals that seem to be local stores / areas only should really have a special category that removes them from the search results

Remember looking for this when it was posted a month or so ago, and no stock... was walking past the discount games in the Stockton store, and there it was!

Must have got new stock in (maybe sent over from another store, or something)...

Anyway... Stockton still have some copies if anyone is after them - they're downstairs by the travellator :)

Had a look in my local and they had a lot of PS3 games for around £10 but unfortunately no Valkyria Chronicles

wouldn't recommend the game

I highly recommend this game; a fantastic tactical RPG that is both real-time and turn-based with beautiful visuals. If you're a fan of games like Fire Emblem, Shining Force or the Advance Wars games then this is a must buy!
