Portal 2 won't be worth £30.I enjoyed the first though.. but was short.

Anyway, hot at £50 if you were gonna buy portal 2 at £30!

Game of the year, in April? - how does that work?
#3
Portal 2 is a definite contender for GOTY, yes, but it's not GOTY.

Great deal though. Heat added.

Nice pack, hopfully now portal 2 is out they will move their backsides and make episode 3!

Wont be worth £30 ? How can you say that if you haven't played it ?

Its well worth £30. A good 10 hours single player coupled with the same for multi.
#7
Just to note, this is the standard price for the pack and not a sale price so if there was a sale on this pack it would most likely be a lot cheaper.

Still great value if you don't have many of the games already.

I think it's a mistake and they forgot to increase the price when they added Portal 2 to the pack.

10hours!!! it takes about 4 and that was listening to all the voice overs. Excellent game.

It only takes 10 hours if you're rather rubbish at it to be fair.

It should be worth £29.99 as it got game of the year and 95/100 at MetaCritic.

I put that score down to hype. How a 4 hour game with very limited re-playability deserves 95% I'll never know
#13
What a great pack! I'm only just getting into playing PC games since building the new PC and this is definitely worth the £50 to someone who's only seen people rave about these games in the past in magazines.
#14
Hot if your getting portal 2, but most people will have these games already
#15
voted hot, but I have everything already barring Portal 2

he killed it for me. don't understand his/ricky gervais' humour.

Thought Portal was poor on the grand scheme of things. Wasn't that challenging and i was able to do it in 4 hours with a bottle of Mountain Dew :D

It was made for the console generation mate. Portal 3 will be entirely on rails and full of cinematic cutscenes.

I had to think for maybe around 4 'tests', and those were mainly the Cave Johnson levels which were quite dark and hard to work out where to go, also the game seemed to get easier toward the end... and the final boss? come on, even my cat could have done that in 10 minutes.

Question, I have left4dead and hl2 and a few other games. I understand that with some games if you buy a pack and you own some of the games you get keys you can gift. Does anyone know if that is the case with this?

This is excellent value with portal 2 included, you get 20 games for £20 (after portal 2 being £30) and I'm surprised about the reaction to portal 2. the first was excellent and there was replay value you with further maps and puzzles being added by the community, portal 2 has co-op mode, I've not heard anything negative about the game from my friends, it's worth the cash in my opinion.

Voted hot.

20 minutes, what, are you a statue?! I had the bloody thing completed before I got it!

Some people like to take their time to play games and enjoy them. I personally loved mucking about in the chambers in both Portals... you kind of defeat the purpose of enjoying a game if you just rush through it to complete it.

Portal 2 story line doesn't take long (had to stop and think at a maximum of 6 times, that isn't really enough) . But it was still great fun.
So say portal 2 worth £20 (it'll be £20 on pc soonish) this is an awesome deal (hell, i'd pay £20 for team fortress still)
#28
no vote.
last christmas. valve pack was £15 YUP and i bought it. even i had most of the games. (whole hl2 series, css, tf2).
so no deal from me.
but yeah STEAM deals can be the hottest things on earth. e.g. portal was free at one point, try out latest cods games for the weekend (full version). and xmas deals are insane

Tax year? ¬_¬

If it took you 10 hours to beat Portal 2 you might as well just kill yourself, there's a lot of things in life which are a harder than Portal 2.
#31
One console game for £49.99 or a years worth of pc gaming for £49.99... hmmm hard choice....

Awesome pack for the money!!
#32
Portal 2 took me about 6 hours and then i have all of the multi-player campaign to play through too, which is supposed to be another 6 hours. It is WELL worth £30 in my opinion.

So getting to the deal in hand, £49.99 for all those fantastic games is a brilliant deal. If you havnt played these games by now, you are certainly in for a treat.
#33
Meh, took 10 hours to complete everything, but one of the most awesome 10 hours of my life. Bargain considering my PC version was almost free thanks to the handy code in the PS3 version and ebay.

Its hard to see where they can take the inevitable 3rd Portal game though. Still, looking forward to more user created maps.

You mean £30 for a console game. No one except the CoD idiots buy full price games these days.
#34
Nearly bought this - then decided to look at the games in the deal.....i have Every single one except Portal 2....so glad i checked this -but great find! have recommended it to a friend!

You know what? I am not a regular gamer. It took me MONTHS to finish Portal 1. And I loved every minute of it. If you do not like this game, maybe it is not for you - I think it is a great game and yes I have started playing Portal 2 last night. I'll probably finish it around September.
#36
not worth £30 when you consider the price of the orange box and what you got with it. still the pack has L4D in which is just awesome, coupled with everything else its an absolute steal, sadly i have accumulated most of these games already. I cant see it selling much because those people into valve games and PC gaming will already have most of these, should entice a few new customers though.

Now that portals out we should get L4D1 maps in L4D2 soon!

Oh dear...months? I'm as cack handed as you can get and even I polished that one off in a little less than 4 hours. Unless you are the dog in your picture, in which case, well done boy!! Who's a good boy beating Portal?? Whos a good boy?
#38
wow - lots of willy waving going about on this thread! Anyway, back to the deal - this is excellent with so many of the games being worth the asking price alone. For my money L4D2 and HL2 episode2 are the highlights. The sheer fact that you can get an excellent brand new game with such high reviews whether it takes you 2 hours or 2 weeks is a bonus and generous to boot.

I can remember when steam began and all the worry from the gaming press that it may spell the end of PC gaming. Far from it - if you ask me they should be congratulated for keeping prices low, giving indie games a much greater platform to prove themselves and of course these one off special deals that come along... ooh every week it seems. For all the gaming goodness this is volcanic!
