Vango Kura 600 - 6 Berth Family Tent

Code: 5023518630595

Vango Kura 600:

The Vango Kura 600 is ideal for families or any large groups who want plenty of living and storage space, with separate bedrooms.

The steel and fibreglass construction and generously spaced layout ensure a roomy, stable environment for eating, relaxing, playing or sleeping.

The tent is formed of a large tunnel-shaped living space , with 3 adjoining tunnel-shaped bedrooms.

The 225cm high, 450cm long living space has plenty of headroom and ventilation, with doors at front and rear, 4 'Crystal Clear' windows and fully sewn-in groundsheet.

The inner sheets can be removed if necessary, in order to make extra storage or living space, and keep your options flexible.

There are many ventilation points around the flysheet to make sure the whole tent, including bedrooms, allows airflow if needed, and Vango's 'Comfort Colour' system (darker tones on the bedrooms) and breathable inner make for a better night's sleep.

A convenient lantern hanging point maks evening relaxation easier, while the taped seams, adjustable tensioning and pegging system and combination of Powerlex fibreglass and Powersteel poles make sure your temporary home is safe and secure, and you're protected completely from the elements.

Colour-coded poles, pre-attached guylines, and Vango's 'Pelmet' aesthetic addition make sure that the tent is quicker and easier to pitch, and has a more 'finished' and comfortable feel once it's set up.

A convenient, practical and fun environment for any large camping trips.

any cold voters please let me know why as we were looking at buying this. cheers

I'd guess most people here (myself included) don't know much about tents and just think that £190 is a lot to spend on one. What's special that makes it worth £190 as opposed to an Agros £130 jobby?

Not voted hot or cold so far - don't know enough to make a fair judgement.

EDIT - from Agros:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3409237/Trail/searchtext%3ETENT.htm at £130
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3400119/Trail/searchtext%3ETENT.htm at £170

argos tents are rubbish spod - I had one then went and got a vango tigris. Also this one is 3000 hydrostatic head which is very good
#4
The vango will be much better quality, think of it as the diffrence of satying in a 5 star hotlel or a travel lodge. It will last so much longer than the argos one and your a lot less likely to get leeks in heavy storms,

Thanks. Sounds like it should be a hot vote then.
What sort of number would you expect to need in terms of hydrostatic head? Is 2000 good enough for UK summer camping?

Blacks have a different Vango for £180: http://www.blacks.co.uk/camping/tents/group-and-family-tents/product/095546.html# - but it only has a 2000 hydrostatic head.
(Lists as £200 but there's 10% off tents online at the moment so it ends up as £180 in the basket).

The original post doesn't seem to specify a weight for the Kura 600. The one from Blacks is pretty heavy at 23Kg.
Weight can make a lot of difference if you've got to hump it up a hill!

From http://www.outdooraction.co.uk/acatalog/Vango_Kura_600_Dlx_Tent__2008_.html
Weight of Kura 600:
• Weight: Poles 11.1kg
• Weight Canvas 14.2kg
Total 25.3kg - so not something you'd want to carry too far.

Looks like Millets have the same tents online as Blacks - but at 20% off - so the Vango Verona 8DLX Tent comes in at £160 once added to the basket!

the latter is important (think they meant leaks..lol)...also the cheap ones at argos may not have the ground sheet sewn in, so you will be spending alot of nights with bugs crawling over you

thanks everyone for the advice, will be repping when i get a second. i dont suppose anyone knows a discount code for go outdoors??
#17
Works out 3p dearer here with standard P&P but the delivery is 3-5 days rather than the 7 working days at Go Outdoors.

Vango are the daddies of tents. We bought ours 4 years ago and it has outlasted all other good makes by far. This is a great deal, truly - if you want to camp for festivals etc then cheap will do, but if you are looking to camp regularly, given the British weather (wind/rain, sometimes storms - and don't forget the changeablity of the British weather, you might plan to go when it's nice but you never know...) then you need to have something reliable, otherwise you will be cold, wet and miserable! In car terms, Vango are the equivalent of a Rolls Royce. Poor Ettam123 must have had a dodgy one, that's the first complaint I've ever seen/heard (and I camp a lot). Same with sleeping bags. Don't skimp where it matters! Hope that helps.

I would only buy one with a 3000 hh, am in the market for a new tent but I want one with poles

our one (vango tigris 400) also has some stitching coming loose - on the inner bedroom. Only used it once, not overly impressed.

Very good warranty from Vango - though how easy it is to claim I've no idea.
From Website.

'Vango Lifetime Guarantee
All Vango products are designed and manufactured to exacting standards and are guaranteed to be suitable for the end purpose intended. As part of our ongoing commitment we will guarantee for the lifetime of the product, that should this product fail during normal usage as a result of a component, material or manufacturing fault, excluding fair wear and tear (which includes colour fading), then the product will be repaired or replaced at our expense and discretion. Poles are not included as part of this guarantee. This guarantee is only valid when products are used for recreational purposes, which do not include commercial usage i.e. hiring, use by outdoor centres etc. '

Oh and I see Gooutdoors have corrected the description to the 600 - someone must be a member on here!
