Hi Guys

We were at Go Outdoors yesterday just for a look, and seen this cracking deal. Its an amazing price for the size of tent. Had a quick look online last night for any better deals on 8 berth tents, but couldnt find any (thats not to say there isnt better deals). Seems to get good reviews, saying its sturdy against wind and rain. Maybe not as great quality as the more expensive tents, but for the price its great (cant believe I feel I have to explain myself in fear of negative feedback from picky/critical folk on here, lol) Anyway, thought i'd share my find.

Great find....thanks x

That's a really good price for an 8 berth. The tunnel types are really good for the extra living space in the middle.

The main downside I can see is that it isn't a full sewn in groundsheet. However, if you don't mind that, then it's nothing to worry about

I am sure it has, one of the reviews confirms it:

"the sewn-in groundsheet makes getting everything set up right really easy.Once the outer is up the bedrooms hang up in no time at all, and you're ready to go."

I'm sure it said it was a riser groundsheet in the porch

Just checked now and the description is confusing:
Sewn-in polyethylene 10,000HH groundsheet
'As one' pitching, quick and dry
Riser Groundsheet in porch for comfort and adaptability

Seems like it could...or could not :S

Nice tent - shame I'm nowhere near one of their stores.

What that means is it isnt sewn at the entrance, but you can button it up at the doorway, to make it a "step in" entrance to keep the water out, means you can have it up or down, so you have the choice :)

I saw 2000mm mentioned somewhere, although after my last comments, I'm probably wrong about that too :p

Re the groundsheet it is a riser type as in it is zipped or buttoned up on the door openings to keep the rain out so it is sewn in. However they aren't that thick on these so it would be a good idea to back it up with a footprint groundsheet to match in case you nick the sheet or camp on an area with stones near the surface.

Tempted to sell my Kyham Rigi-pod for this as i could probably make a profit out of it and its a hell of a lot less bulkier and a lot lighter!

i have got the vango 800 and its a brill tent.
the only problem is the size, i think its 24ft long.2ft longer than a standard pitch. we had to phone the campsites up before hand to see if they would accept it

It's 'Hydrostatic Head' bigmaz. In other words, it's a rating as to how waterproof the tent is. The higher the number (usually above 2000), the better the tent is at keeping you dry.
