Seems like an excellent price. Anyone know if these are any good?

Most of these are built in batteries not AAs or Camera Battery.

Pretty pointless really

Great prices! It should be noted that these have built in Li-Pi batteries so do not use the original camera battery. That is handy as you then keep the original as a spare but also it will probably mean the camera battery meter might not show the charge level correctly.

The MD-D80 battery grip can be used on the D90 but I see no reference that the N-80 can be used on the D90 which is a shame. Anyone able to confirm if it can/can't be used? Don't want to try it in case it makes my camera go pop or it does not have the full functionality the battery grips should have.

The grip is very useful if you do lots of portrait oriented photography and if you only have 1 battery then this saves you having to buy the grip AND a second battery to get the extended battery life these give you.

i used one for a while, then decided it wasnt for me. Its essentially a piece of plastic that has batteries inside, be it just one set piece you recharge seperately (probably what this is for the price) or something you can insert batteries into. The added weight makes the camera massively bulky. I now instead just have 2 spare batteries (bought for around £8 off 7day shop) which i just switch over. Much easier.

But for the same price or a fraction more you can get a better battery grip from fleabay that takes lithium ion batteries or AAs, which are far more versatile in terms using your grip without having to take it out and lug it around when the things gone flat.

Lets face it lithium-ion batteries are not dear and far easier to carry about, I have even been caught short before and been able to nip into a newsagents and buy AA's to fill my grip.

Typically the one I need for my EOS 500d isn't reduced :(

Good find though

just spotted this deal and take quite a lot of portrait shots so should be most useful. Thanks for the post op.

It's basically a copy of the Canon grip, tempted, but you the recharge cycle seems a bit long, and you can't actually take the BP511 batteries out as you can with the Canon grip as it's a sealed cell, that's the only thing putting me off.
