A fantastic compilation of some 70's rock/punk/ska/alternative etc classics.

Next cheapest £7.96

After the success of 'The Edge of the 80s' earlier this year, it seemed only right & proper to continue the series. The logical next release is 'The Edge of the 70s'. This bumper 3CD collection serves up classic tracks from the late 70s as well as some more obscure gems, and tracks that have never been on CD before. The tracklist is assembled with care, and with a keen sense of how the album should flow. It's not "just another 70s album". It's for the discerning music fan, or anyone with a keen interest in the late 70s, an era that has inspired many of today's artists.

They are probably too young or musically challenged to recognise the tracks, so they vote cold. All it takes is one or two and then the sheep follow. I hate it too. If you don't like the music just ignore the deal. It's not fair on those who might want to buy this who only check out "hot" deals. I can't be doing with the faceless cold voters; at least if they had the balls to say why they voted cold. But, I guess they prefer to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons.

Dare I say, takes me back to me yowth.

As compilations go, this seems like a pretty fair one, avoiding clichés of generic 70s cheese pop...perhaps thats why people vote cold? Those that like 70s Kitsch over 70s alternative rock?

Hot from me.

What an awesome compilation. Great to see some proper Ultravox instead of that anodyne Midge Ure-era bilge.

Astrodyne...;-) I liked that one.

Notice how its the same few who pop up in posts of this type?
I, of course, think we display impeccable taste.

It makes you wonder aboutt the mentality of some people - how the ffs can this be cold?

Good price for a good set. Some corkers on there such as:
The Undertones - Teenage Kicks
Squeeze - Up The Junction
The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet
#11
I'll heat this up.

Ha. I toyed with an astrodyne/anodyne type pun but decided against it.

I've ordered this. I'll be able to keep the family amused on long car journeys...

It's quite a good compilation.
Would have liked to have seen a bit of Slade or T Rex in there though.
Good to see Secret Affair & The Ruts included :)

Excellent compilation. I have far too many compilations like this which are really just a rehash of the same tracks. This has lots of different ones which I haven't heard in years.

Voted Hot, I reckon this should be a lot hotter than it is. Espeically liking CD number 1
