I loved band of brothers (great if you have surround sound), The cheapest place i know to get band of brothers at the moment is Zavvi for £30.40 (if you have a zavvi near you that is). If you don't have a zavvi near you then lovefilm is the cheapest at the moment.

You must be joking. Compare the quality of YouTube to the average DVD superbit or BluRay.
Bluray will last about 5 years, until SuperHD or fibreoptic-direct-delivery takes over. But dont kid yourself on the downloads front, not the same thing. Cinema/HD TV is the only real competitor to Bluray now - until the others arrive....

This site's reviews say yes:

The blu ray quality is great, he marks them down cos he doesn't really like the films. So if you like the films and have a blu ray player then they're definitely worth buying.

On the quality of blu-rays, someone on here a little while back posted a link to a site that gave you a good side by side comparison of blu-ray/dvd releases including screenshots, can anyone remember or know what the site was...I lost the linky :(

You can play them in SD but they won't look any better than a DVD.

That's not the same one I had before but it does the same kind of thing I was looking for.

Many Thanks!
