Astra VXR is Vauxhall's hottest hatch... ever. Think 240PS and 320NM. Think 2.0i 16 turbo engine with a six-speed gearbox and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Great price for an astonishing car. Obviously not for everyone, but you're thinking of getting one, this may be the best place to get one from brand new !

Optional extras will of course increase the price, but you will definitely save compared to prices on Vauxhall's own site.

Personal taste I guess, I think they look superb, especially with the 19" alloys on, better looking for me than the Golf GTI, Civi Type R and anything from Ford

Yeah personal taste, I think they are gorgeous... especially the 3 door. Hate the effing stupid stalks though... how the hell do you cancel them!! hehe. Driver the normal model as a hire car and they fly!

Wish I had 16k :(

I love it !!!!!!!!!!!! anyone gonna buy me it though...........................

i love the VXR, been looking at them for ages now, perhaps this drop in the price of new vehicles will push the price of 2nd hand ones down a bit further making a VXR even less of a dream...

Awful car. Really chavy. And who would buy new? Has anyone heard of the credit crunch? And I bet it depreciates rapidly.

just looks tacky, prefer the understated looks of theAudi RS4 or even the Golf GTI, R32...sure they are a little more cash but theyll last longer and they go round corners...all that power is pointless if the handling is c**p...1st corner and you'll be hugging a tree

Would rather have a BMW!.......but quite happy with my push bike at the moment thank you very much!:p

I had one and the seat always squeaked , i know crazy but took them a year to cure it and then it only lasted another year b4 it started squeaking again.
Garage was **** . I since found out that it is a common fault with astras, ask anyone who has one . It is the safety thing inside the seat that saves you getting whiplash!!!! and they cant remove it because of the safety issue. all they do is grease it ffs and when the grease loses its lfe?????? tuff its out of warrantee lol appalling service
Would never buy another vauxhall EVER!!!!!!!!!!

you can get a chrysler crossfire on pistonheads for 10k 55 plate with a v6 . It's a winner for me!

Nah, the worse thing about Vauxhall's is the Dealer network. I had an SRi version of this Astra and tried 3 different dealers in the Manchester area and they were all clueless. :x

Vauxhall don't do it for me either i'm afraid.

Depreciation and internal looks are poor.

Hence why i'm picking up my Civic Type R GT on the 1st Sep :)

Great car,

I`m just looking at selling my 2 yr old VXR if anyone is interested...????

And i can honestly say i`ve never had a problem with mine in two years and round corners either. Certainly smiles per miles. !
I considered a golf GTI and a Focus ST at the same time. Focus ST was best buy for value, but how horrible looking and dull and never ever have liked a Ford in my puff. The Golf GTi was and excellent car but again did not like the look. (prefferred the old shape), and was a good few grand more than the VXR.
Over 3 years the difference in depreciation in book price between the 3 is 2%....WOW !
Get the VXR over the ST or GTi anyday, Plus it would kick their ass.!
