Haven't you seen all the Vauxhall 20% off at the moment - shall i post that as a deal?

nb lifetime warranty it is not 100K miles max AND ONE owner - I belive VX are being looked at by some lawers/groups as to false advertising i.e. too much use of the " * " i.e. read the small print.

WHY IS THIS GOOD????? - you can get a better deal at your local dealer, Vauxhall will do huge discounts. My friend last year bought a new Astra for about £8500.

Local dealer will knock £2,000 off a 5dr corsa without any haggling.

they will only ask you for your e-mail and name.....

not a good make either

I envy your mates guts, I have attempted a couple of times to haggle and have always left with my tail between my legs with a distinct feeling that the sales team are taking the pith out of me.

Perhaps with Partners and Swappage! And did that include the delivery charge? Something that some vauxhall dealers fail to include in their advertised price!

btw, a better deal would be a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Edge for £9557. It's higher spec and a nicer looking car.

Lifetime warranty is 100K according to Vauxhall lol. Better scrap my unreliable Renault with 108K on it then.

taken from small print for FORD deals ''The discounted prices include a £500 bonus which is conditional upon you taking out finance arranged by the dealer. If you do not wish to take out this finance then you will need to add £500 to the discounted prices that we quote online.''
this applies to Ford as far as i know.
BTW corsa price is delivered price according to DTD..

yep, DTD it's delivered. I mentioned delivery in above post as a certain Vauxhall dealership were recently advertising Corsa 1.2SXi 3dr at £7,999. They made it *reasonably* clear that this was a price after swappage and partners. However, they failed to mention that this price didn't included delivery...Got myself literally kicked out of the showroom for questioning the price...

They wouldn't give us a finance quote without us going for a test drive first which set a few alarm bells ringing. I was told that they didn't sell cars that way and that their garage wasn't the place for me. I asked if the screen price was the price I'd pay for cash and was told it was. Later on that day I went onto the live chat on their web site and asked if delivery and VAT was included in the price. They confirmed that VAT was but delivery wasn't...

Basically, there was no way I could get the car for £7999 even with partners and swapage that I was eligible for!

I purchased a new Vauxhall Corsa design 2 years ago for £4000 of the book price + free metallic paint job and 0% finance over 3 years. This was through a Vauxhall partners programme and I also got quotes from multiple dealers and gradually started playing them off against one another until one said it would be selling at a loss. Its good to go into the dealer and say that xx has offered me it for £### will you beat this price, and surprisingly everyone offered to beat the competitors prices until I got to that end figure..

Best way to haggle. That's what I did when helping mum to buy a new fiesta. Beat the "target price" listed in a few motoring magazines.

I actually do that when it comes to servicing and for my dad's jag xf saved £200 off what was initially quoted.

i'm in the market for pre reg car, are places like the drive the deal a good place to start?

If you are after a vauxhall, you'll get told partners is the ultimate discount but if you play dealers off against each other you can get it cheaper, even if they are the same group ie, Lookers etc. Knocked an extra £800 off a Corsa Active + last year with the scrappage deal. It worked out at £7500 for 1.3 diesel after Partners, scrappage, FDA and extra discount. Drop by the last week of a month and they'll bend over backwards to get you to sign on the line if they need the KPI's!

Don't think the Corsa is a good deal, but a Ford (especially a Fiesta) over a Vauxhall is a joke!

Really?

btw, recently bought a nearly new Corsa for my wife. Opted for the Corsa because of price even though the Fiesta was marginally the preferred car after considering price, looks and spec.

Also, the 1.2S Corsa is nothing like the same spec as the 1.25 Fiesta Edge.
