Bargain!
Thanks so much, ive just reserved one to pick up on monday :)

Thats a good price. Think i'll nip in and get one for myself... Carpet cleaners are a must have when you have a dog who things beige carpets should have paw prints all over it.

If anyone is interested in a more powerful one then there is one at TJ Hughes for £99. I think its the some one as sold at currys for £150.
#4
Haha same here, my lounge carpet is brown, but everywhere else is beige!

But with a child too its a must, i usually borrow my mums, but ill have my own instead!
#5
I just thought oooooooooooooh ill try and find a discount code, forgot argos dont do them though! DOH!

Its a real good price though, was going to take out the extended cover, but then realised, my mum had hers for about 9 months, then it went really wrong, she took it back and they gave her a new one :)
Cos of this she got a years warranty again, so ill save my £11

Can not find any info on the V-021A on the Vax site, must be a very old model?

Found the V-024 for the same price inc delivery, but it is a Factory Graded item, due to the following:, ex-display/ex-demo, cosmetic blemish, mor, refurbished by the manufacturer.etc 12 months RTB guarantee.

Seems a good deal to me, will probably pick one up tomorrow.
#8
Thanks guys :) Will collect one from Argos today ...

Gavcooper :- I think the model number may be incorrect. Will confirm this later.

Hi Edi,
I had a scout round lastnight for this as argos doesnt give you enough info, just wanted to see if its suitable for daily use (dont wanna use it daily, just wanted to check its hardwaring) and i also couldnt find it anywhere, even on Vax's site!

OH well, let us know either way, im still going to collect mine tomorrow cos its still £40 off there cheapest model anyway :)

Excellent edi, my stairs and landing carpets could do with a good clean

Please remember to vote on deals everyone http://www.cheatsws.com/hukd/79.gif

Seems like a good price!

Anybody found any info about this anywhere other than the argos site yet?
Seems a little strange that absolutely nowhere else stocks it & its not on the vax site at all.

Thanks.
#12
No ive had another look but i cant find anything.
Im also waiting for a bit more info!
No offence or anything to anyone, but im sure if i asked a worker at argos they wouldnt know, cos they cant have the full spec on every item!
#13
I'm suppose to go & collect one today. Donno if I will make it before 4pm. I still beleive the model number could be an error.
#14
Bought it today, not tried it yet, it looks ok, and on paper it lacks umph (530 watt motor) but if it removes carpet spills it will be fine by me. Good Spot edi.

Thanks Wordsworth :)

Can you confirm the model number on the box please?
#16
Hmmm im not so sure to buy it now!

This is the one my mum has http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4054832.htm

I wouldnt say its amazing or anything, it leaks alot no matter how much waters in it.

I wouldnt say my mums holds that much water, you never get a carpet done PROPERLY with the one tank, and this has a smaller tank than my mums.
Cant understand why its more (when its full price) than the one my mum has even thought the spec isnt so good?

Hmmmm, do argos do a 16 day sort f thing where if your not happy you can return it?
As i would like it, but im really not sure if itll be upto the job and dont want to spend £60 on something thats poop to be honest

Thanks edi - just collected mine from Argos and put it together. It says on the box it's for frequent use and the specs are almost as advertised on the Argos site:
Motor 550w
Clean water tank 2.6 litres
Dirty water tank 2.4 litres
Electric cable length 6.1 metre
Weight 5.7kg

Comes with a free 750ml bottle of Vax AAA 3 in 1 carpet cleaning shampoo - costs around £2.97. No filter to purchase it is washable. Philips screwdriver required to assemble (3 screws). 1 year warranty - upgradeable for a further 2 years for £17.99 via in box leaflet, so if you are into extended warranties then taking it out at time of purchase at Argos is cheaper at £10.99

well it cleaned the carpets eventually had to change the water and refil every couple of mins as small tanks.
dont know if to take back as you wont be able to do stairs as no attachment and oh wanted to do his car seat covers too but that would be impossible ,but now ive used it dont know if it is still covered under the 16 day money back thing ?
:-(
#20
Yeah i asked the same stuff too, i knew it wouldnt have the attachements as my mums hasnt.
Im worried i wont like it either!
So someone please let us know if you can return it if you done like it as im due to pick mine up tomorrow!
#21
Bond, when i go to collect mine later today i shall ask about returning it if i dont like it, and shall post what they say :)

Sent an email to vax asking about this model.
The reply:

"Thank you for your recent email.

I have looked into your query for you. Argos sell the V021 A, which is a model sold exclusively at Argos. Other retailers may sell the V021, which is exactly the same, expect for maybe the colour. Vax do not sell the machine on the online shop but you should be able to purchase the machine from other retailers.

I hope that this rectifies the situation

Kind regards"

Liked the sound of this as our 9 month year old is on a mission to cover our whole beige carpet in dribble but after the last few comments I think I may avoid.

Anyone else tried one in action, sounds daft not to have a hose attachment?
#24
Doenst have any attachments, ive been and brought mine home (FIRST HUKD PURCHASE SO THANKS GUYS!!!!)

And it seems ok, im about to use it in a minute.

Ive asked argos if you can take it back if you dont like it, and you cant :(
IT has to be unopened unused etc, i suppose the only way for someone to get round it is to say its faulty, to which im sure theyd just replace it.

Im sure itll be ok, ill update as to what i think when ive assembled and used it, argos also said these have been selling really well, and as my mum paid £100 for hers, it is a good bargain :)
#25
Have to say it only took about 3 mins to asemble (that includes getting it out the box which was the hardest thing!)
Very easy to put together, and really have to say its a step up from the £100 argos sell, that was hard to put together, this one seems much better quality, now for the testing...

Update when done
#26
Well i have nothing to complain about, far the oppostite!

I bought it with doubts in my mind, but ive been pleasently suprised, and im so glad its light, makes it a whole lot easier :)

I would recommend it to all :)
