it might sound funny, but does it use a lot of energy?? need one for my sons bedroom and wondering whether its cheaper to use this or just central heating?

If you have gas central heating that would work out much cheaper than having oil heaters in each room. Heating rooms locally only can save money but then there's the worry of condensation and mildew in the cold rooms. I'd say setting local radiator thermostats lower in those rooms that are least used is the way forward if you have gas CH. Electric central heating is probably slightly less efficient than plug in heaters as some heat is lost in the pipe network.

Yeah but ugly, unknown brand & plug in timers cost £2 in wilkos. This should be expired as code had expired
