any one know what else is in the going going gone sale...
#5
Looks like a badly made dyson
#6
Heh ive got the Animal Dyson and i believe it to be the biggest pile of pap going.
#7
bought the VAX on offer for about £30 at B&Q in March and theres nothing wrong with it at all... performs well...bargain buy
#8
Was it this one you bought for £30, if so I'll wait for the next sale and see if its reduced again.

Only would need it as a second vacuum to save lugging the Dyson up two flights of stairs.
#9
No it was a red one... it looks cheaper and nastier than than one! like last years model. It was something to get us going in our new flat, but we have just kept using it for the last 6 months as it does the trick nicely!

Having had a Vax and a Dyson, and latterly a Miele, if you want a clean house with minimal aggro avoid the bargain and just buy the Miele Cat & Dog. I've been blown away by how good mine is, carpets have never been as clean. Looks completely nondescript but streets ahead of the competition IMO

The question i have is why would they knock off over £150 over what they consider to be a good vaccuum?

Something smells fishy.....do these Vax models perform aswell/better than Dyson?

Furthermore try finding some reviews for the VAC 901 or VAX 901 on Google - not many results show whatsoever.

it's great but bits snap off it lol
#13
No instructions online for this particular model but while the exhaust filter is washable (unlike the Morphy Richards cleaner found here recently) they recommend you replace the main HEPA filter annually.
#14
there all the same they go **** less than a year later and have poor sucktion i havent found one yet than can manage my dogs hairs without ******** out....
#15
Looks good for £50 but that RRP is pure BS. At least if they ever sold it for that I would like to meet the sucker that bought it.
#16
I would certainly agree that Dy$ons are ****

The best by far are those with a motor in the head which i believe the Miele Cat and Dog has. miele anything is fantastic but very expensive

Personally I'd spend an extra £40 and get a Henry - can't go wrong and imho beats Dyson hands down!

Dyson do/did one with a motor in the head.

But a Henry is a cylinder cleaner - it won't work as well on carpets as an upright because it doesn't have a brush and beater bar, does it?

Vax is a brilliant make and probally classed as better than Dyson, thus being Vax is a more professional brand.

I work for B&Q, and there is nothing wrong whats so ever with the products that are on offer, occassionally they are able to get a massive bulk buy cheaply and therefore bringing on the sales to you, the consumer.

They also do this sort of stuff to make more customers go to B&Q, and hoping that this wouldn't be your only purchase there that day.

Thanks,

-Peter

we use the vax 6131 in our house, its the best ive used so far that includes dyson and other brands. Im sure this is a bargain at £50 but the 6131 is the one to get as it can wash carpets aswell as hoover thing has got about the same power as a jet engine sucking at your carpet it literally pulls the carpet of the floor lol

NO the price is just closer to it's true value, with less of a mark up.
I personally think that it is long overdue, that we realize how much we are over charged in the real World scheme of things. As an example opticians work on anything up to 2000% some will question this! some will know the truth!

Why all the 'talking down' pn the Dyson make? I have a Dyson 'The Ball' (got it on half price offer at Comet for £165 or sommat) It's very powerful and requires minimal effort when hoovering around corners and awkward spaces. Would recommend it highly..

anyone buy one of these if so are they use!!!!

Not exactly sure what that second question was, but I bought one earlier. Easy to set up, had a quick blast around upstairs, and I can't tell the difference between it and the Dyson 07 my mum's got. Apart from the Vax isn't as loud. Good stuff thus far.

Bought one of these this morning and am really impressed with it. My sister was so impressed she's been to buy one too. Can't believe how much cleaner my carpet looks than with my old cleaner. :)
