Any advice if this cleaner can be used on ceramic kichen floor tiles?

I got this when this deal was first posted but tried it once then returned it. I have laminate in my living room and tceramic tiles throughout hall, kitchen, bathroom and toilet, i had to refill the tank several times as it only holds about 3 quarters of a pint, the charge takes ages to get full so its constantly plugged in. In my opinion its alot easier and faster to just use a mop and bucket. I have returned this back and got a full refund, dont waste your money.

Looks good but why does Amazon list as its 'perfect partner' Tooth Tunes Musical Toothbrush? Am I missing something? Do you use the toothbrush to shift the really stubborn dirt?

Note that the listing doesn't mention that this is a cordless device - hmm wonder why that is? And it doesn't mention that you will get a £5 discount - hmm wonder why that is? The device has lots of stickers on it saying words to the effect - "problems? don't return to shop call our helpline!" - hmm wonder why that is? There is no mention on the Vax website of the V-122 - hmm wonder why that is?

Well I'll tell you why, it's because the machine can't even manage to clean a moderately sized floor without the battery running out with beggar all warning. Because the machine works by you spraying water/detergent onto the floor, running the machine over the floor to scrub and then changing the mode to suck up the water the battery invariably runs out just after you have sprayed the water leaving you to mop up the water by hand. That said the bits that the machine has finished will be spotless so if you have a tiny floor to clean the maybe this will be nearly as useful as a mop and bucket.

It's obvious to me that these machines have been a disaster in terms of returns and Vax are trying to dump the stock through Amazon. Ours is going back.

Thanks very much for this - reputation added. I was just doing the same research you've obviously done, and reaching the same sort of conclusion. I agree entirely. You've saved me £45.

Totally.

Machines like this are pointless. Hard flooring is always best cleaned using a mop and bucket, only ensuring that the mop is only moderately damp.

lol... cant find any match between a hoover & toothtunes :)

I have to agree with the person that made the discussion about the mop and a bucket - if you have expensive real wood or cheaper laminate alike you would want to take care of it.... so simply use a mop and carefully clean your flooring :P

So who is voting it hot? And why?
#14
BTW - I normally jump at things like this - however I googled it and it shows up on Currys site as well at 99 pounds - but on there it specifies that its battery powered - needs charging. If you got rooms like me then you will be well annoyed when the battery dies half the way.....

Heheh.... Let me know once you get an answer to this

People keep voting hot on deals that seem cheap but are, in essence, just a waste of your hard earned money and numerous deals get voted beyond 200/400 even when it's a not in stock deal and not a single poster has managed to secure one item!!!

I bought this item and I think it is fantastic. It cleans my floors well and is far easier than a mop and bucket. Those people who are slagging it are talking rubbish.

But how many square metres of floor are you actually cleaning with it? The problems are mainly for those with large floor areas, when the battery loses its charge.

I have this unit, I have been using it for months (I have a large living room) this is a great price and typically with all VAX products it does the job perfect!
Defiantly worth the investment..

I too purchased this when it came up on HUKD early Jan 08. The Vax is excellent in terms of cleaning my oak floor. I agree the charge is very poor, however, I just tend to clean different floor areas on alternate days. Yeah it is a bit inconvienent but certainly prefer it to using the mop and bucket!!!!
