I was going to buy this untill i saw these reviews

Poor suction, help line number out of order!!!, 22 Sep 2008
By Ms. Lynne C. Hayden (Cambs) - See all my reviews

This hoover has very poor suction. The turbo-head worked the first time used, then gave up!! Tried to ring the help line, but an automated voice said 'There is no one to take your call' not try later or anything, then the line went dead! Charming!! Will be looking for a refund, useless! Useless, 26 Oct 2008

Bought this half price at £59 but still was not worth that. Tubes fall apart when you use them. Poor location of the handle means it is hard to get a hold of and the suction is very poor also. I took this back for a refund.

I would give it a miss.

The last Vax I had fell apart after the 1 year warranty was up and I vowed never to buy one again! IT was very poor quality...although not this model of course

I bought this vacuum from Tesco in store a week or so ago for £50 - contrary to what people are saying the suction is very good, and it feels very solid - can't comment on the long term performance though.

Sounds quite good. I'm unlucky with vacuums as it seems by the time I use all the bags that come with the vaccuum, it breaks! Maybe I should try my luck with a bagless one.

Looks decent, I thought it was free delivery over £25 at Tesco Direct?

I bought this at the same price a few days ago too and I thought the suction was impressively good; I certainly didn't need to use it at full power. However, the tubes did come apart a little too easily for me, but I could get used to that. The handle holds a couple of the smaller nozzle tools which I think is a bit awkward but not a deal breaker.
This seems to be quite well constructed, although the design seems to directed at encouraging men to hoover more. It is quite macho.

Had the more powerful model and it broke 13 months after purchase. Never bought VAX again. Got a Dyson with 5 years warranty. My brother got a vax from JL with 5 years for £69 last year - same model.

Looks like rubbish to me. These will be made in China and also branded as other makes.

Buy yourself something that you know will last, in my case that was a Henry or Hetty.

Buy cheap buy twice, cold.

Henry is by far the best. Unless of course you have young kids as for some reason they will want to play with it all day long. Prepare for damaged walls and dinged wallpaper! lol

I can't help but restate the views that have been added on here, had two bagless vax's, the turbo head stops working unless the cylinder is empty and the filters spotless, but frankly they are rubbish.
Even if it is the speed of the turbo head wasn't brill.

We bought a George (carpet washing Henry from Numatic) and it is so much better than these it was untrue. The head speed was amazing and keeps going, and picks up sooo much more dirt.

How I wish I had read these posts before buying one of these vacuum cleaners from Tesco Direct a couple of weeks ago!!!
The first time I used it, I was amazed at the suction and whizzed around the whole of my house with my new toy with a big smile on my face!
The subsequent uses have been very frustrating- the red light keeps coming on, it's got very noisy as if something is blocking it, I've washed out the filter twice and checked the hose for blockages.
Now the power is the same whether I have the knob on half power or full.
The customer care line is a joke- I have rung up twice for help to be told after rattling on for five minutes, that their computers are down on both occasions and could I ring back another time?!
My old hoover which is stuck together with elephant tape has better suction so I am returning it to my local Tesco tomorrow for a refund.
WORD OF WARNING.... The cleaner and the information pack have big labels with 'Please don't take me back to the shop, call the care line' on them. What does that tell you?!
