I am using from past 1 month. Didn't find any issues. You may try any of the following deal to test the waters.

Couldn't be worse than EE's.

Do you really need them?

Interestingly they have an APP that allows you to make calls/sms from a tablet/device using your mobile number. Like O2 to GO but this is not restricted to contract users only.

Trying to trial it. I got a Vectone sim with £5 load included but the app does not recognize the £5 free as available credit. My mobile does.

I need auto bunle renewal like giffgaff auto goodybag renewal

They have the Auto top up option while you buy the recharge online. It tops up once your balance falls below £2. Check for yourself.

Read reviews before providing Direct debit details.
I hesitated after reading many and use top up vouchers.

any idea if this works other way round, ie, for travelling abroad?
planning a trip to France soon and need a package
but just spotted in Deal Conditions - 'Units cannot be used while roaming'

Generally speaking, most PAYG change their arithmetic as soon as you are outside UK so this is no different. That may turn out to be expensive on roaming as the bundle won't work outside UK and they would charge you the same top of the world prices.:{
Although, I found a post on HUKD few days back that may be helpful for you.

Three's PAYG "Feel at Home" package may suit you. Call / txt / data whilst in France as if you were in UK (no roaming charges). Example £15 PAYG (which can be a 1-off throwaway) would give you 300mins / 3000 txts and a thumping 25GB to use on your handset in a 30day period. (T&C says no tethering).

Regarding the Free Sim PAYG do you have to top up to get free calls and texts to other Vectone users or is it like Giff Gaff every 3 months?
#16
This is not 4G internet right?
#17
Fantastic deal, seems like every usual suspect apart from Ireland is included in the intl. minutes offer though :(.
#18
Has anyone used these sims for tethering?
#19
Tethering is not allowed. Written in T&Cs.

This isn't 4G but there's another good deal with Lycamobile which gives 4G. I think it works on O2 network.Lycamobile 4G Plan

AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Avoid like a plague especially if you do not have time to make a phone call, send email, involve in argument, etc. It is a dodgy company ......

Worst ever customer service. Deducted money from Direct Debit without permission and never return email response. Phone response is even worse.

giffgaff gigabag Seems good but I am not sure.......
So witch is the best deal right now? Thanks
#31
I second pantaiemas comments ... Worst company I have ever dealt with with regard to customer service. Even if they paid me I wouldn't use them.

Auto Topup

I am with vectone for a year now. The quality of service is effectively T-Mobile, so good. But no 4G so far. Tech support is best contacted by e-mail, then they usually answer in a day or so. In general they are usable, otherwise I would be gone somewhere else, but there are bad aspects too:

1) Auto top-up is not working well with bundles (or pockets as they call them). Not technically, but mathematically - you need to have between 10 and 12 GBP on your account for the 10GBP pocket to auto renew. However, the top-up amounts are 5, 10, 20 etc... Go figure how you can achieve the target amount with that without additional spending.

2) The online statements are very vague - very very difficult to understand what you have been charged for.

3) They have a lot of small print, which is constantly changing - so you may get charged where you didn't expect. Also, some of their charges are kind of dodgy. For example, recently I have been charged for calling 03 numbers, even though I had some allowance left. This contradicts ofcom regulations regarding 03 numbers.
#33
Avoid Vectone absolutely awful customer service. They claim to respond to all online complaints within 24 hours; however they have failed miserably to even respond to any of my complaints. He careful to opt out of auto topup if you don't want it as they automatically add it your account and then refuse to refund the amount.

They did the same to me Vectone seem to think they are above the law.

May be worth trying these 3 PAYG. Because generally tethering is not allowed unless you get into some contract or otherwise it may turn out to be quite expensive.

Agree to most of it. But if one plays with them by only using top up vouchers (easily available in local shops) instead of using Auto top up option then he/she may avoid many problems regarding billing. I have been using this technique since they had 1/2 p to many international destinations and did not face any issues. I have also experienced that they seem to run as a one man show because whenever I call them it seems like same person is picking up the phone. I thinks that's how they are able to keep rates low.
I also tricked them by immediately sending the cancellation message just after buying the plan by dialing respective *xxx# number so that the plan is not automatically renewed. This way you may be able to keep hassles to minimum and may not need to contact them.
#38
They should advertise the real data limit instead of Unlimited* with FUP.
#39
you can get apps that allow you to tether ,I tried airdroid for android and it worked fine tethering it to a tablet.
#40
Been with them for a few months now; got one for the OH as well (Vectone-Vectone is free). I was on their £12 plan with 5GB data but switched to this one this month (inclusive international minutes is useful). They do auto-renew the bundles every month unless you cancel them with the correct USSD code.

Speed is virtually same as Orange/Tmobile/Orange. I noticed slightly longer pings; think their servers are offshore somewhere in Europe.

Agree with j_xella about the auto-topup. It's proving to be a PITA to get the balance below £2 to get it to do the auto-topup. For e.g. I had £9.74 balance this month but couldn't buy the £10 bundle. I ended up manually topping up with my CC. I used to get around this by transferring balance to my OH's account to get my balance below £2; But recently they changed the minimum transfer to £5.

Regarding customer care it's not the best; a typical Indian call centre. Had to call them once to check the status of a data bundle I ordered. The lady helped me out to sort it in a few minutes. But I don't foresee many calls to the customer care for a PAYG provider. I'd recommend topup coupons if you are nervous about handing over card details to vectone.
