As good as Tilda IMO, but you always pay a premium for Tilda (more than double the price) :)

Nowhere near as good IMO,grains are shorter and there seems to be quite a lot of broken grains.

Still a cracking deal at that price, just cook it very gently.
#13
well its a great deal for basmati

tilda is way overpriced
#14
Perfect for surviving the upcoming zombie vampire werewolf taliban nazi communist ... episode.

Unless it's that "cook for 25 minutes" rice that will cost you more in power than buying slightly more expensive 10 minute rice.
#15
Boo! :-(
None stocked in Swansea, Cardiff, Newport or Bridgend. Great price though!
#16
Have had this rice before - not as good quality as Tilda but....
.. compared to this price Tilda is about 3 times more expensive but no way 3 time better.
So value-for-money and HOT!
Pick up some after work (local two of my nearest stores have large ethnic range).

£11 online
#18
Yep, showing as £10.99 online for me too.

didnt know there was a difference in bazmatti rice, i normally buy the cheapest from the asian supermarket.

20 mins i normally do mine for

1 person
85g rice
85ml stock
85ml milk
teaspoon tumeric
2 cardomon pods
2 cloves
teaspoon of fennel seeds

bring to boil for 10mins then cover pan with lid, turn off gas and leave to steam for another 10.

if i fancy it spicey pop a scotch bonnet in there and take it out with the cardonmon and cloves when its finished cooking.

mint rice :)

if you think Tilda is expensive; check out the 20kg Kohinoor bags; but the best of the lot in my opinion!

I cook my rice in the microwave and it comes out fantastic every time.

Also, if you cook it in the microwave your body will treat it like brown rice due to the way it takes the water on board.

I measure slightly more water than rice in a measuring jug and there is no need to cover.

I cook for about 10 minutes for half a pint of rice and slightly more water, you can always cook for an extra few minutes if you need to.

I use a pyrex dish with a flat bottom, the dish not me, and not a small bowl.

No steamy kitchen and pots to clean.

Most folks cook the same amount of rice each time so once you have the sizes and times right it is the same each time.

Rozana is great not as good as Tilda, best way to cook rice:
measure the desired amount of rice and soak in water, fill a pan with water, add a spoon of oil, pinch of cumin seeds, whole aniseed, bay leaves, cardamom pods, salt to taste, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and bring to boil, rewash your rice and put into boiling water, stir and 10-15mins later strain rice in colander.

Better then tilda, heat added
