Vegemite is a bit more waxy whereas Marmite is more sticky. Vegemite lacks the very aggressive salty punch on your tastebuds which Marmite has. For some, Vegemite could be considered milder and therefore more palatable, but I find it a little bit sickley. The underlying flavour between the two is broadly the same.

That was just a load of racist crap aimed at the aboriginal community, the yeast in Vegemite is dead so can't ferment anything.

I prefer Vegemite, mainly because it's not as sticky as Marmite, so easier to spread.

Is vegemite vegetarian and marmite isn't?

Both are veggie, but in my opinion vegemite is gross.

I'm a massive marmite fan (or supermarket own brands as they are quite similar) but I couldn't finish my vegemite jar.

Both are suitable for vegetarians, Marmite says 100% vegetarian on the label

Don't buy this you filthy traitors! You think the Aussies are munching on Marmite? Hell no! Buy British!

Just remembered they put the price of Marmite up by 20p - ignore the above! :p
