I use this oil to mix with my Diesel and use it in my Vehicle as fuel, works out @ £0.90 per litre.
PLEASE NOTE - Not all Diesel vehicles can use vegitable oil as fuel.

of course you must pay the additional duty if you use veg oil as a road fuel *cough* seriously be careful doing this in your desiel engines. I've used in older cars / engines and would not do it in a new one. You can clog up your injectors and get a wacking great big garage bill. Saving a few pounds on each tank can cost you ££££ if you damage your engine.

Your aloud to use 2500 Ltrs per year before paying duty, but you must keep records of usage.
As mentioned in the post "NOT ALL DIESEL VEHICLES CAN USE VEGITABLE OIL AS FUEL" so please do some research first.

Can I make biodiesel and what is the Excise Duty on this?

If you produce 2,500 litres or more biofuels a year, or use 2,500 litres or more of biofuels as motor fuel on which duty has not been paid you must notify HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) of your intention to produce biodiesel. For details please contact the Excise and Customs Helpline on Tel 0845 010 9000 (+44 2920 501 261 outside UK).

I've been using it for about 12 months now mixing it with Diesel 50/50 in summer and 30/70 in winter, you get used to the smell.

Following a review in late 2006,[14] HM Revenue & Customs has announced changes regarding the administration and collection of excise duty of biofuels and other fuel substitutes (Veg Oil). The changes came into effect on June 30, 2007. There is no longer a requirement to register to pay duty on vegetable oil used as road fuel for those who "produce" or use less than 2,500 litres per year.[15] For those producing over this threshold the biodiesel rate now applies.

If your only mixing it 30/70 in winter you will be only saving about £14 a tank is it really worth it ???

Fairplay to you you tried to do some sums, but you dont know how much fuel I use.
But for arguments sake I was saving £14 per tank Per week, then thats a saving of £56 per month.
NOT TO BE SNIFFED AT THESE DAYS.

Been using waste oil for about 8 years now without a problem.First in my Citroen XM and now in my Saab 3.0 and as long as you dilute it there's no problem making it work.Unfortunately no Farmfoods near me since they closed the one in Accy. Good deal though.
