Richley comp bars
Bell and reflectors included:)

Plenty of sizes to choose from.

Difficult to say without knowing the full spec of the Ventura but as mentioned above the Felt is very good for the money. Merlin cycles have the 2014 for a bit less but self assembly or 30 quid to assemble so similar price.

perfect for a fairweather

Looks ok, it is old Sora (which is basically 2300 now, that which the Triban 3 red had) which is ok but has the thumbshifters rather than the paddles.
Is that a carbon fork?
Could be a bargain at the price, you won't get much similar at less than £300.

I dont think you can go far wrong with that bike at that price. Seems a very good bike for the money.

Looks like a lot of value for money.

Just a couple of things to bear in mind, if you are the upgrading kind of person, this is probably not the bike to go for. I bought a red Triban 3 a year ago and spent probably more than the price of the bike upgrading it. If you are that kind of person, just shell out the extra quids and buy the Felt or a Triban 5.

To explain why I think this is not a very upgradeable bike: firstly, the fork looks like it is alloy, which is far inferior to the carbon forks you can get on other cheap bikes (for example the red Triban 3), I reckon the alloy fork will hinder you from the outset and give you a pretty shoddy ride; secondly, the drivetrain looks more like a current 2300 (old sora thumb shifters don't look like the ones on this bike, they have a different shape... however not much difference between old sora and 2300)... I'm not sure how many gears the cassette offers, I would expect 8, but the double chainset at the front may be unacceptable to some riders who may be doing more hills etc. That being said, I did change the triple chainset on my Triban 3 to a double because I find it easier to use and maintain. Chainsets and shifters are horrendously expensive to change (unless you're a smart eBayer); finally, if you have small hands (like me) you'll have trouble reaching the thumb shifters if you want to ride from the drops, which was why I upgraded to Tiagra shifters.

Other components that may need changing on this bike (more immediately) include the saddle (because this one will probably give you ball-ache), the brake pads, and bear in mind you'll need to assemble this yourself!

All that being said, if you want a bike to take you from A to B, this price is unbeatable for a new bike

Looks good for the money and if you get serious you can put this on the turbo trainer when you start you bicycle collection.

Heat added for not being the £199 Halfords road bike deal!

Try Halfords where you will get a bike for £100.

One thing to note is that this hasn't got a double chain set its a compact they both have two chain rings but the compact (which this is) has a 50T/34t set up a double mainly on high end sportive or competition bikes has a double which is 53/39 and so this will be fine for hills unless you're really un fit.

When it comes to repair and service it, depending on what it needs or if you can do it yourself you might want to upgrade to a decent bike.

Final thing, when buying a road bike you're paying for a frame essentially. The likes of cubes, felt, boardmans etc all have poor quality frames and next to no warranty.

I am a cycle mechanic and sell bikes all day long so I know what I'm saying.
Just some advice
