Don't know if this is posted in right place. It confused me...
THE VENTURE VOUCHER OFFER

To enable people to try out Venture first-hand studios offer a £25 voucher experience which begins when customers bring their family, friends or partners into the studio for an hour of quality time together.

Once the studio session is complete, people are invited back for an exclusive viewing where they are given the opportunity to view the best of the imagery from their shoot.

Clients then receive a complimentary 7x5 framed image, all for an introductory price of just £25 (usual price for the session and framed image is £125).

This value can also be used towards a larger display product. And if individuals are not completely satisfied with their photography session and finished portrait, they are entitled to a full £25 refund.

Be prepared for the hard-sell. The standard of photography is excellent, but the prints are super-expensive. I couldn't resist the photos, but wasn't impressed with the final print quality. There was a long lead time to get the prints, and it took even longer than they'd said it would. After sales care was terrible too. Good deal though if you're strong enough not to get persuaded into buying extra photos (unlike myself!)

They charge way over the top prices.
If you're able to walk away with the one photo that comes with the package then ok, otherwise stay away!

took this offer up a while ago, not really impressed. The prices are so inflated they actually offer you a finance package if you say you cant afford them! £125 for the photo you get in this deal is utterly insane! They have a habit of 'enhancing' the photos digitally by cranking the exposure way up making the subjects look pale and knocking all the other colours off, my sons blue t-shirt looked about 20 shades lighter and his skin tone was almost white. Walked away with the freebie and made it clear I wasn't impressed, no refund offered though.

Yup ruthless sales technique. went on a Friday night and spent £1200 came to my senses before morning and called them back to reduce the order to £300 on the pretext that my mother wanted to view and buy us a really big print. they were happy to reduce on that basis. Contract states that once signed there is no option to cancel.
Mother never managed to make it to the shop!

Have to agree they are terrible at pushing sales, we go to Olan Mills and they are very good, no hard sell and the pictures are good and have some excellent packages and cheap prices.

This is what we got for £150, 33"x18" framed montage, 2x 6x4, 2x 12x10 prints, all the photos on CD with no copyright so we could print out ourselves

It was a half price offer but even at £300 its good value

We used to use Olan Mills and bought the kids package for a few expectant mothers. The last one was unable to use it though because olan mills went into administration december/january 06/07

You can always get the £25 off at Venture!!!!

We had Venture photos done and the sales pitch was quite pushy. Here's what to do though.

Get your small photo that you get free (or buy any more that you like at the smallest size) scan it and then take it to one of these canvas printing kiosks that are popping up in shopping centres. Fraction of the price!

I love my Venture photos and we thoroughly enjoyed the photo session. Just be prepared to be ruthless when viewing the photos as they are all fabulous and you'll want them all.

Olan Mills have been back for a while now, we had a watch me grow plan when they went into administration and used it when they reopened no problem

We got some amazing pictures from Venture, but they always give these vouchers away. We got a £125 free voucher in our local shopping centre. Reason becasue the cheapest picture is over £200 and they try to presure sell you to spend well over £1000. If you look around in baby shows in your area you will find equally as good photographers for half this price or cheaper.
Venture is a franchise so your expensive pictures are paying loads of different commissions.

Another way of getting these vouchers is to enter the 'competition' they have at their display stands in shopping centres - you will always win a photo session with free 7x5" photo. You can 'win' one of these once a year.
As for the product - it's really good. They get good photographers have AMAZING studio spaces and even have colour now :) They don't pay their photographers on commission, so it's not a hard sale at all - in fact if you ask me it's pretty soft. We've occasionally traded up to the 8x10 for an extra £50, but generally we've come away with an annual 7x5.

I am a qualified photographer. I once went to Olan Mills for an interview, just to see how bad they really were. i pretended that I had no experience. They said that that was fine - they would just teach me the poses to put kids in... no skill required at all!

I have had 3 sets of venture photos done in the last 7 years. The 1st 2 times i just brought the ones that came with the package. The last time we spent a lot - but that was hubby's 30th prezzie. He wanted some nice pics of the 2 of us.

I have NEVER had the hard sell from them & really rate them as photographers.
