Nationwide? Which store did you purchase from, may i ask? :?

Northampton..

I had the 1TB version of this. Its got an Hitatchi Drive inside.
Sadly it passed away 2 months after purchase :-(

Verbatim drives are cheap and nasty, expire within a couple of months. Better off paying extra few quid and buying western digital or similar.

1.5TB is a lot of information to lose in a couple of months. I was interested but if the reliability is an issue then I'd go elsewhere.

Otherwise it seems like a reasonable offer for a 1.5TB external drive.

It's a sad day when someone bad mouthes a product that has no relation to the one in this thread. Even more so when everyone believes that this comment must be the truth. :? I bought 2 of these drives from CDiscount 2 weeks ago and have them both setup on two different computers for my video work. The ACTUAL drive contained in these cases is a Samsung HD154UI.

In other words, not a Hitachi drive. :x I did some research before buying them and found the price and the drives contained inside to be well worth a purchase. If having a 1.5tb scares you, buy 2 like I did and use 1 as a backup mirror. It's a good idea to have a backup for something this big! Also, they aren't the quietest drives when turned on, but they seem to have both quietened down since.

Yep I got this drive from Cdiscount aswell, and mine also contained a Samsung HD154UI. Mine is still going strong.
