Toasting. £59.99 at Amazon. Missed out on the 320GB ones earlier in the week so this will do nicely (if it comes).

hot!!

I'm getting serious doubts over these deals, already had to cancel a 320gb one which went out of stock shortly after they took my order. Ordered a 500gb instead and I'm not sure if that's going to go the same way.
#6
I ordered the Lacie one and the Freecom ones earlier today - both "Awaiting Stock". Cancelled and ordered one of these. Let's hope.
#7
Does anyone know if there is any way to get the hard drive out of the enclosure and put it in a laptop?
#8
I would have gone for this .....if it had been made by Onyko
#9
I will get this hard drive because took my card details of don't take card you are out of luck!

They don't take payment until they dispatch it so its by no means guaranteed yet.
#11
Nope my 500gb ones just gone to awaiting stock also. Appears to be a waste of time with play.com today.
#12
i've tried to order one of each of these offers that keep appearing and everyone has gone to awaiting stock. wish play would stop pi**in people about

Shouldn't be any problem they are just 2.5" drives in enclosures. All your need is a screwdriver.
#14
Thanks OP

Another brilliant storage deal, lets hope its actually honoured, don't like the sounds of all these cancelled orders.

Thanks - just thought I'd check as I know a few of them are starting to use proprietary connections now.

Yey! Mine is in packing. Looks like I snatched one up.
#17
Ordered, it's worth a try, thanks.
#18
£60 now
#19

Same here.

At least there was some stock I suppose, problem is I had to wait to see if my 500gb order went through first before I canceled it to get this.
#22
Mine is sitting at 'Order Taken'

Is that good or bad do you reckon? Doesn't mention anything about awaiting stock etc

That's bad at this stage, you should get the dreaded 'awaiting stock' soon.
#24
i got awaiting stock on a bargain belkin router a while back which was half price so didn't hold up much hope but they did get more and was received so dont give up all hope :)
#25
awaiting stock... cancelled
#26
Not sure how Play.com got a " Which " award, just shows what a waste of space Which is I guess.
#27

Might be some hope for me then, but not holding my breath ...
#29
Well when it says Packing ...it means you've definitely got one usually.

I dont understand why they can't type in their database HOW MANY THEY HAVE IN STOCK and stop all orders at that point!
#30
Is it possible to plug this into a media player & play ur stuff with relative ease?
#31
400gb is no longer on there site, 320gb is priced @ £39.99 im awaiting stock, so i take it i wont recieve it,

Providing your media player has support for USB drives...and providing it handles the codecs of the files you throw at it (h.264, xvid, etc)...then yes! Just drag and drop the files onto the drive and plug it in to your media player...which should hopefully have some sort of file manager to allow you to play your stuff!

Awaiting Stock usually means: Failure.

Because instead of seeing one problem and writing off the company, they were assessed over time?
#35
Anyone's order still sitting as 'Order taken' this morning?
#36
Mine has been dispatched, brilliant
#37
For people that use Play alot, do they tend to take the money straight away i.e. it will show as pending on your bank account after ordering or does it tend to just come off a couple of days later without ever pending like Amazon?

" One problem " .. you obviously have not followed Play.com's history, this mess is nothing new.

Nor is it anything major.

I'm pretty sure they take payment when they dispatch the item.

Do you work for Play?

The whole saga is one sorry mess, Play are a disgrace.:(
