I've always used Verbatim and always will, there is a myth about better quality of disc's coming out of certain factories but they are all good in my opinion, i'm close to a 100% success rate

Double Layer disc, with a Printable matt silver surface. Verbatim Double Layer Discs provide a massive 8.5GB (2.6 for 8cm products) storage capacity. The double layer of recording has been made possible by the creation of a new substrate layer that sits in between each recording layer, that allows the laser **** record on both layers. Once the first layer has been recorded, the laser re-focused to record on the second layer.
Key Features

* Write-once Double Layer DVDR
* 8.5GB Native Capacity
* 8x Write Speed
* Wide Inkjet Printable Surface

It is NOT a myth, do your research before misleading large numbers of ill-informed people.

Moser Baer India make the cheap ones...in india.

Mitsubishi Chemicals make the good ones...in japan

There are massive differences in quality between different manufacturers, Moser Baer are a "buget" disc. Mitsubishi Chemicals make premium quality discs.

Do a bit of googling and see for yourself...

Proven beyond doubt that Moser Baer discs are crap.

It's definitely a myth about Moser Baer discs being vastly inferior. There is no "massive difference" as they're made using the same dye and the same process as the ones made in Japan. It's just passed around different forums as if it were fact.

Probably worried about the amount of stock they will have left when PS3 dongle hits the streets.

Still expensive, for me.

Never had a problem with Verbs, used 1000s of them and don't recall a single duff one. I can't say the same for the cheaper alternatives where near whole packs have been dead.

Still it's probably more cost effective in the short term to buy cheaper ones as they're generally less than half the price of Verbs so you can afford a few duff discs per spindle. Personally I'd rather pay more for peace of mind and the less hassle involved.

Oh and I've never checked which factory types mine were, all Verbs seemed the same to me.

I have never had any problems with the made in singapore verbatims, but i did buy some made in india verbatims last month and 4 out of 5 ended up as coasters ! I know the experience can differ from drive to drive. There must be a quality difference imho.

These are the best and only discs you should be using for 360 backups.

That doesn't make any sense at all as the ps3 hack is a usb loader, not disc based. Plus ps3 doesn't even use DL-DVD

It makes sense if you understood what he meant. He's basically implying that all the 360 pirates will move over to the PS3 which doesn't need physical media for backups, hence the worry of there being too much stock of DL DVDs left.
