Is there some sort of special drives needed to work with the WII? I've got an Samsung MJ one and it works perfect. This one will be USB 2.0 compatible so should work perfectly with the WII.

Stonking deal! Well done OP! I thought the 320gb ones people were scrambling for are not a good deal! This is a deal site - thus people want the best price/gb, this is definitely the hottest deal for 2.5" drives since the MJ ones!

I can never understand people saying I only need 80gb so I'll only buy 80gb? Why? When the price per GB is so high?

I'm guessing hard disk will work as soon as you connect it in. might need 3rd party tools to read it properly, file transfers etc. Sounds like a prject is brewing.

In the Wii? Yep, as long as it's formatted as FAT32 you should be fine (FAT32 has a 4GB filesize limit!), however if you copy your Wii games onto the hard disk, they get converted/extracted to wbfs format and are much smaller than 4GB.

Toshiba StorE Alu2 hard drive 750 GB HiSpeed USB this us on here as well, for £50 seems like a better deal, an extra 250G for an extra £10, any thoughts?
#26
Will this portable USB connection plug into my laptop? Not sure if the USB port is the same.
Btw, my laptop is 2 years old.
Thanks

USB ports are the same regardless unless micro or mini USB is stated. The difference between 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 is the speed they transfer data at and 3.0 are backwardly compatible.
#28
gone for this myself, nice spot, thnx!

If you dont have usb 3.0 - get 750gb one as the slower 5400rpm wont make a difference over usb 2.0.

If you have usb 3.0 and care about speed - get this one of course.
#30
nice spot looks a good one to me

couldnt order one from comet due to site error on samsung 320 gb, this one is better usb 3.0 & 500 gb, good find ordered

In case somebody is interested in the 750GB. I would have preferred the higher storage space if I hadn't already ordered this one.

Thanks ordered the 750 GB :)

Just looking at a Wii compatability list on wiihacks it says 'As of March 2011, no USB 3.0 hard disk drive (even those described as USB 2.0 compatible) have been compatible with the Wii. - Gen3SF'
