Was in Asda (Newmains) this morning and they had deals on all their USB flash drives:
4GB ones for £4.49
8GB one for £7.49
Some 2GB ones too.

I bought the 8GB one. Maybe it's nationwide, i don't know, it may be just the one store (Newmains near Carluke/Wishaw in South Lanarkshire).

EDIT: Lots of people have found them nationwide. Some stores have not marked the low price on the shelf but they seem to scan at the reduced prices, hope this helps :)

Amazon sellers are selling the 8GB for £12 + p+p (purple) and £18(black) so £7.49 looks good to me.

Can't believe how slim it is, i'll add some pics.

They have just removed the metal surround at the plug end (not needed) and also any excess plastic on the main body. It all adds up to keeping costs down, without a loss of performance.

I have a 2GB version of one of these. It comes with a keyring attachment & a bit of 'tough string' (lanyard?) so you can attach it to your keys.

I love these tiny flash drives - bought half a dozen PNY 2gb ones from pcworld a few months back (a ridiculously cheap clearance deal that someone posted on here).
Small enough that you can bung a few in your wallet/purse, unobtrusive in your device, and seem plenty sturdy enough (all 6 of mine get regular use by myself & family and there have been no problems whatsoever).

Less than £8 for an 8gb one is a great price.

will take a look at my ASDA
for some reason, all tech offers are never available in Colchester...probably they think people in Essex still live in the stone age and can't use pc's!!!

HOT for me though,
Cheers

Surely the exposed contacts is a bad idea - they could be easily damaged.
Not for me even at this hot price!

I love when people make assumptions with no real basis whatsoever. I mean it's unfathomable to think that these things are put through product testing.

I've had a 2gig orange version for over half a year now. Life saver with the keys. Just cancelled my play.com order of the 8gig (£15) and am going to asda now instead.

Half price? Have heat.

Heat for name-dropping Newmains...

Decent review, although your pounds to dollars math is atrocious !

Great find but can anyone confirm if it's nationwide?
#23
Pros:
brilliant devices
incredibly small + slim so they can go it the wallet no problem
much quicker than the small kingston/sony alternatives

Cons:
Not dog resistant :p

I really hope this is nationwide as the dog chewed my 8gb version.
#24
Anyone else got it? Voted hot OP

Unbelievable, Such a good deal, i bought mine for £14.99 from play. I think the black one looks the best, all shiny and its very tough. trust me it won't break unless you really try. Oh man where was this deal 2/3 weeks ago.
