ends in 97p...end of line...not restocking usually...will tend to be very store specific...but great if you can find one

I recon you can get more GB for near enough £50, WD was doing 500gb Portable for £55 or 60 few weeks ago.

wont vote as everyweek there seems to be a 400 or 500 gb drive for around the same price.

quick question for you computer people, these usb harddrives..are they flash? or do they have moving parts... are they any more reliable then the bigger 3.5 external hdd? asking because my bigger 3.5 external hdd died on me the other day... thinking of getting one of these and jst backing all of my stuff up on them.

thank you for any answers!

They are not solid state, if that's what you mean by "flash".

I have no idea whether they are more reliable than a 3.5" drive.

Basically a laptop drive inside a housing unit.

I meant like usb pen drives.. thats flash memory right? no moving parts... was hoping this was like a huge usb pen drive.. if that makes sense... but it seems like its just a smaller version of a normal harddrive... that has moving parts and is therefore just a likely to die as a normal harddrive! I guess i will have to invest in a solid state drive as they seem to be the most reliable right now... but they are expensive... especially if you want to back up a lot of data!

Seems OK, I think the thing with these drives is how 'portable' they are over the number of GB's, my Curry's didn't have it either (Manchester) but is a good deal if you can get your hands on one.

I managed to get one in exeter, good deal.. was mega impressed by the single USB cable, instead of the twin head cable.

Flash usb drives can also die too, its hard to say which of the two are more reliable....portable usb drives should be, theoretically have a better reliability rate then full size 3.5 inch ones cus 2.5 inch drives spin slower and hence, lower temperatures which is the main factor of drive failures. But saying that....flash drives (solid state) should still work if u dropped it on the floor...
