I have had my eye on this unit for a while, but its just SO expensive. The bluetooth keyboard really does it (and the 20.1" monitor). DELL! DROP YOUR PRICE!

Welcome to HotUKDeals wireframe :) Thanks for your feedback.

I really like the concept and it does look good to me. Ideal for home portability with a big display and wouldn't tie you to a particular room in the house. I haven't checked it out, but it gives the impression it's not that heavy. I must take a look at the specifications :D

If they don't sell well, they'll drop in price quickly I suppose...

To be honest, at this price I would expect at lot more PC power for my money:

1) Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Combination Drive with DVD+R double layer write capability

Come on Dell!! 16X dvd-writers have been out for a long while now.

2) 80GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive

For today's PC's I would say 120Gb is the bare minimum. But this is much more worse as its a slower 5,400rpm hard drive and not the faster 7,2000rpm one. For £2000 I'd expect at least 250GB on my computer.

It seems to me that Dell are trying to get rid of old low end pc parts by sticking them in a nice outer package. I feel its worth less than half the extortionate price they're charging. My advice is to stay away even though it does look quite good.

I agree with that options :) That's one or two reasons why it's too expensive ;)

Now that's a beast! But not as portable as the M2010 lol The case isn't appealing to me, it looks a bit like it's been squashed between the forks of a forklift :D

Spec's very good :) Then of course you'd want the best monitor to go with it... The total price :o

Bear in mind these are laptop parts and not desktop parts, making them a lot more expensive and slower than their desktop equivalents - you don't get 16x DVD burners for laptops and 100GB is as big as you can go for 7200rpm.

I do agree the parts are low spec for the price of the machine, although the high price is there because this is likely to be a niche machine, if it takes off then prices can come down. Those interested in a larger laptop might be like the look of Rock's XtremeSL - this is a 19 inch machine with twin 7900GTX graphics running in SLI although it only has a single core Turion.

Hehe

No, the dual graphics are most likely in an SLI configuration - they only output one display but they both work together to theoretically double your framerate.

Thanks for all the above feedback John :)

The stereo graphics was intended as a joke lol [fell flat on it's back :D]...
#18
Ah sorry - given Nvidia have much better support for stereo graphics(through a standard single card) I took it as a serious comment :)
