What are these? Never heard of them. I've been looking at the megaman energy saving bulbs but unfortunately they are rather bulky and do not fit my current lights. So, I'm looking at any alternatives!

Have you seen how bright the LED units are! You need to switch a normal light on just to see them! I've tried the compact fluorescents, which are dim to start but a reasonable brightness after about 10 minutes. Unfortunately you struggle to find something as compact as a traditional bulb. Also they're also pretty expensive at about £8 a shot so not worth it if you're looking to save money. Seems low energy GU10 technology isn't there yet.

Bought a few of these yesterday along with windows 7
Going to use it with some LED bulbs i bought off ebay (about £3-£3.5 each) The lights will be used to light the area around my computer screen (so ambiance lighting)

Also these are quite cheap and come in a few colours

type in gu10 led into fleebay or even google they are leds rather than normal bulb using approx 1w per hour rather 40w per buld gu10 ie 120watts or 3watts make sure the gu10 you get has atleast 48leds in else it will dull and also a dimmer CANNOT be used you can also get multicolour led units in the gu10 range which gives off a nice warm feel to your room ...

wanderer, cheers for the info. Unfortunately, most of my lights are on dimmers so I'm pretty much stuck.

The megamans would have been ideal apart from the fact they are huge and won't fit. Someone needs to get onto Dragons Den and nail this market!
