seems good, but no info on the tv tuner on the site

does it mean it just has a RF socket for an aerial? or can i input say a dvd player to it?

£106.87 delivered

The trick with this is to discard the TV Tuner. You're getting a widescreen monitor (albeit with no DVI) for £106.87 delivered! And, for those in the know, Videoseven have a reputation for a "no-dead pixel" policy on their monitors, so if you don't know about Videoseven then don't worry. Last but not least you get a three year on-site warranty, which I know most monitors have these days but it's worth mentioning just to prove how good the deal is. For those who would want to perhaps connect a freeview box to the aerial socket, there's a good chance that it wont work as freeview boxes only tend to pass the analog signal down the aerial lead. I have tried a couple of times to connect a freeview box to a PC TV card with the normal aerial RF input but could not tune it in. I ended up having to use the Composite In with an adapter, but it looks like in this case with this monitor there are only inputs for VGA and RF.

Still a bargain though, voted hot!

the only toshiba TV tuner I can find is a USB freeview stick, the Toshiba PX1211E-1TVD, could they be throwing one of these in with the moniter?
Makes it a great deal if they are.

I suspect you are right barneydog, it's a usb tv tuner.

I've ordered, got order confirmation, I can't see it dispatching today though
Rep gone to OP.

I suspect could be usb tv bundle otherwise it's a normal usual monitor - seems plenty everywhere.

Only downside to this is no DVI, but the difference is negligible these days.

Still a great find.

Amazing price. Voted Hot!

Anyone know if this is wall-mountable? TIA!
#16
If it's a USB stick and it's that one it's available for £28.99 at datakits (whoever they are)

next cheapest are all around the £50 pound mark.

It could be an old discontinued model that they have got their hands on, hence they give them away to push the moniter sale.

Surely they can't be bundling a TV Tuner they are charging £57 for with a 19" W/S monitor and selling for just over a ton?? :w00t:

Strange that the stock level of 533 units hasn't dropped in the last 2 hours....

If its a Toshiba TV USB tuner be warned they aren't good. I bought the one from PC World a while ago. Its just a re-branded Lite-on one and I was very disappointed. The software was not very good and the thing would not pick up the full range of channels available. I was back at PC World asking for a refund inside the hour. I had it connected to a big aerial in the loft that gives me 90-100% signal strength and 100% quality on another Freeview reciever.

So the added TV tuner is probably a manufacturers special offer then, not the retailers.

Makes sense, they would be able to get them a lot cheaper and explains the low price somewhat.

Perhaps they are bringing out some new models soon and are trying to get rid of stock.
#34
Of the 20 or so retailers that froogle says sells this model the majority list this as a "KIT", but only 2 (magenta and ebuyer) mention the TV tuner.

What is weird is that they all have stock (not one is out which is unusual) and of the ones that give a stock figure they ALL have either 532 or 611 monitors in stock and I can't believe they are just 2 shops with 15 different site fronts.
#35
They all direct ship, so the stock is sold from the distributers warehouse.

Hm i had no option for faster delivery on this, just UK mainland option for about £4

Im interested as my CRT monitor is displaying a blue tinge, any ideas why?

Also, is this monitor good for gaming? Ive never heard of Video7 before...

Regards,

If it's anything like the one PcWorld sell for £139 then it is a standard 19" monitor with an analogue tuner bolted onto the back of it via the vesa mounts. This can be unbolted and used on other monitors etc (Ignore the 'built in' quote on the website spec)

It has it's own speakers and remote control, but requires a seperate mains feed to power it so another spare plug socket is be required.

Inputs are stereo left and right, composite and obviously rf. You have vga in and then a vga out that goes into the monitor's vga socket.

Once again this is the setup of the pcworld tv tuner monitors but i suspect that this item is roughly the same.

Cheers

I use a standard 19'' at work. Does anyone know what the height difference would be for a 19'' widescreen? How big a widescreen would I have to go for to get the same height as a standard 19''?
