Teleatlas is owned by TomTom. However, there is no guarantee that you will get the latest TomTom maps with this GPS.

It would be better to install TomTom on the unit (because it runs Win CE, you can) and use the original TomTom navigator and maps.

It's because of this upgrade option to TomTom (and iGO, Navigon, and many more) that this deal is hot.

I haven't got this satnav but looking at PCTailor it seems this unit is Wince 6.0 and not 5.0 as advertised - and because of this a lot of people were having difficulty getting TomTom going. If you were thinking of going for this unit to then put TomTom on it I would advise looking into it first.

Well I ordered one and it will be ready for pickup on Thursday. It's not for myself, but will try to put on IGO8 on it, as in my opinion it is way better than TomTom software...

Note that this is UK maps - not EU maps as stated on the Asda site.

Works with IGO like a charm!

Original software is rubbish, however if you go to the device settings->about->mobile navigator path and point it to to your favourite navigation software that you put on micro-sd card you will be able to have whatever you like, and obviously if it runs on winCE 6. IGO will work like a charm on it. There is a discussion on simplesatnav forums about this navigation, I suggest you read it!

Where can you buy IGO?

the cheapest I could find : http://www.priceminister.co.uk/offer/buy/64643162/sort3#state_sort_new , know nothing about reliability of the source, though and it's still relatively expensive.

I guess, you will be downloading it from torrent or rapidshare as most do :)

Do not get why the deal got so cold . Retailer is ok, there are no cheaper 4.3'' alternatives, the hardware is good and the software is not worse than other cheap SatNavs have installed. At £44, the deal is simply a steal.

Thanks for the info, but stated unsuitable for my Loox N100 - tried so long to update the Fujitsu, I suppose that its time to renew to a larger screen at least.

TomTom is possible to use on this unit but it's gone now anyway, so it's academic. Everything else will run on this unit including worldwide maps.
