Am I missing something, or is it better to get a decent spec 32" LCD panel for about the same price?
#3
its jus like a tv and u can get 26" or 32" tv mybe around this price but they aint 1080p you see
#4
You could get a nice 32" 1080p tv for say 500 quid, 10x better than this set.

show me a 1080p 32" for 500 please which is 10xs better i would like to see it.

1080p on a 28inch screen is a pointless waste of money. You won't see the difference between this and a 720p set unless your nose is on the screen.

It’s a monitor not a TV. A 28” monitor with a resolution of 1280x720 would look stupid as everything would be ridiculously large.

Ignore the monkey, if you feed him he’ll just come back for more; he’s a TROLL.

I'm fully aware it's a monitor, not a TV. However, as the OP stated "perfect for PS3" he clearly intends TV-style usage. In this case, a bigger, lower res screen for the same or less money would be a superior buy. Unless he really does play his PS3 from the same distance he'd use his PC from.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It doesn't make them a monkey nor a troll.

The OP’s post indicates to me that they see this as a Monitor/TV which suggests dual usage. For dual usage it is generally much better to get a Monitor as TVs don’t normally make good monitors as the dot pitch is too large and everything is way too big. 28” monitor = 1920x1200 v 32” TV = 1366x768.

I didn’t think you were, the remark was aimed at the other poster; see above for clarification.

My TV is 22" and the difference between 1080p and 720p games on the PS3 is clear to see.

No one doubted that you can get 32” 1080p TVs but rather your point that a £500 TV would be 10x better than this monitor. That’s the BS that we can smell around here.

Well I may be wrong saying that its 10x better, not because its not actually 10x better, because you can't measure empirically how good a tv is compared to another. It will be much much better than 28" monitor a doubt or any monitor, you can't put a number on it, but it still will be much better.
