Viewsonic 40" HD Ready LCD - £436.00 delivered!!

OK, the above is likely a mistake, so if you want a HDTV, gobble it up now. It's £500 to start with, but £1000 everywhere else. Use BPWASH10 to get 10% off, XMASFREE199 to save the £20 postage, and order through Quidco for another 3% off.

As far as the TV goes, here's a review:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2006/08/12/ViewSonic-N4060w-40in-LCD-TV/p1

Note that they are raving over the price being £1250! It's clearly not top of the line, but it's not bargain bucket either - the picture sounds pretty good. It's 1366*768 so has a good number of pixels, has a HDMI and 3 SCARTs. However, let's face it - the important thing is that you get a 40" set for literally half the price it would be anywhere else.

You could even use the online receipt at a local Currys for half price Sky HD, saving £150 more :-)

Wow What a find i wonder if they will cancel my order like they have done in the past fingers ,toes crossed .

Voted HOT
#4
I hope they don't cancel, as this one isn't an "obvious error" like they were throwing at us the last time.

I've just ordered, first time I've made such a huge impulse buy. I love Viewsonic!
#5
Hi, That's an unbelievable find in all honesty!. Wonder if Currys.co.uk will honour an order for one of these?. They've been on sale previously for £849.99 after 10% discount from what I've gathered but nothing anywhere near £499.98 before 10% discount!. That's the sort of price you'd expect to pay for a 32" and then you'd probably not get a Viewsonic for that sort of price as Emma probably knows.
#6
Voted Hot, Rep given, and placed an order...
On my brothers card hehehe.:giggle:

Cool! A youtube review.....

Its an end of line they are clearing the issue is going to be stock availability. I have order one fingers crossed they have stock. It was posted on avforums at 5pm today so thats not a good sign. That site has huge numebers of people viewing who buy gear like this...

I don't think it's a mis-price though, it wasn't much dearer than this when it was on special offer recently.

How much more was it whilst on offer recently Emma as I'd last saw this priced at £849.99 before 10% discount. Usual price: £899.00 (online). In-store price: £999.99 (or possibly £1,099.99). As far as I'm aware you cannot buy a 32" Viewsonic for this sort of money never mind a 40" Viewsonic. The Teco 32" LCD TVs were approximately £415.00 delivered from TechFever however I was sure that the same model branded as a Viewsonic was about £200.00 more (or thereabout's) and that was only 3-weeks ago approximately.
#13
Er... £849.99 was the offer I meant! But that's not that much more.... really.....!
#14
Maybe cheap because it's an old model. Released late 2005.
#15
This looks like a real good deal.

Can't be a mis-price can it - since PCWORLD have it for the same price ?

Next best price is from scan computers but they want £997

OOops. Ditto!

And there goes my 13,000th post without me noticing!!

Whatever it's an excellent deal...voted HOT and rep added

Hmmmm.... That's approximately £350.00 more Emma :(.
That's a lot more.

I know you're trying to convince yourself that this is not a pricing error however it more than likely is as this is a drastic reduction in price. I wish you good luck though.

So the Teco and Viewsonic are the same internally?

Just ordered, top find.

Not sure what wife will say in the morning, she went to bed leaving me to order some personalised calendars and I've just bought a hhhhhuuuuuuge TV :whistling:

Could be - although I can't see any other 40" sets around this price bracket, including some fairly old ones.

At the end of the day though, LCD sets are much of a muchness. You could pay more for 1080p, but that's pretty pointless under 50" imo. It could have a slightly faster response time, but again - not untypical for LCDs. It would be nice to have two HDMIs for Sky HD and Bluray, but you'll be able to use component with the latter for at least 5 years before they start demanding HDMI connections. There's nothing fatal or even really negative at all in the specs, at least that I can see. Sure, if it was £1000ish I would go for a plasma for the extra contrast, but it's not remotely in the same price bracket.

As long as the reviews don't highlight big problems with picture quality, you can't really go wrong imo :-)

I don't think it's a mis-price as it's on the PC World websiteas well at this price.
PCWorld are a DSGi company they all use the same database (although prices do often differ significantly admittedly).

It's a brilliant price. Hope that Currys.co.uk do not cancel orders like Amazon.co.uk have done on many items quite recently :(.

Hi, This unit is hhhhhuuuuuuge. And beautifully made IMHO. Just a shame I'd spent £350.00 more buying one of these literally only a matter of weeks ago :(.
#26
Nice find :) Hopefully everyone that wants one, gets one :santa:
#27
Ordered, would be great if they honoured it in the run up to xmas, shame its not the black version but nevermind. great find, voted and rep given.

@MacNewbieInTraining

I'm tempted but need a little convincing !

I know it's cheap, but i already have a 42" sony rear projection...

You've just bought one? How does it compare to the likes of equivelant samsungs, phillips, etc?

Thanks

Same price at Dixons but no free delivery, so not a mis-price [I think].

So the Teco and Viewsonic are the same internally?
The electronics as far as I'm aware are exactly the same. The cabinets differ slightly that's all. Teco & Viewsonic use the same Remote Controls as well (just with Teco on them as opposed to Viewsonic). One thing I would say about Viewsonic though is that IMHO their warranty support is much better than Teco as I'd bought one of the 32" Teco offerings from TechFever and I've failed dismally to get through to their warranty support company (via 0870 number) to report a d.o.a. fault. Viewsonic aftersales is generally second to none in my experience.

Hi, I'd bought one of these several weeks ago now and most recently a Teco 32" to replace a 28" CRT that was taking up far too much room. The Teco 32" came with the same Remote Control as the n4060w however the TV itself has a fault on. I'm hoping to get a refund on this. The warranty/repair company are desperately difficult to get hold of (Teco) and are only contactable via an 0870 number which adds to my frustration. I'm probably not in the position to compare the n4060w with a Sony rear-projection as I'm really not an AV buff however I can confirm that the build quality of Viewsonic products as I'm sure many on HotUKDeals agree is second to none. Connectivity on this particular model is good I can say that though.

Just my luck for this product to have dropped £350.00 in price though so soon after buying at what I'd thought was an excellent price :(.

HTH.

If you use an Eggcard at Dixons you get an extra 5% cashback, which would equate to free postage, and then a wee bit more.
