Right well I've seen how tough it is to get a projector above 100 heat on here but i'm gonna give it a go!

First off this is considered a budget Full HD 3D mid range projector so if you're a really serious Videophile then you can probably just move along here and just leave some heat for the price :D

Lowest ever price on Amazon (via camelcamelcamel) & at £399.99 the cheapest i can find it anywhere.

- Full HD (1080P) Widescreen For Crystal Clear Projection. Up To 8,000 Hours Lamp Life And Eco Mode For Reduced Running Costs.

- 3,000 Lumens (Measured at 3518 in tests), And 15,000:1 Contrast Ratio. Hollywood Based Digital Light Processing (DLP) Technology

- HDMI Input For Simple Connectivity To Various HD Devices And Built-In Speakers. Peace Of Mind WITH 3 YEARS WARRANTY.

- 3D Ready With Brilliantcolor Technology
Easy To Set-Up And Use - No Special Screen Required

Mixed Reviews really between 3 and a half stars up to 5 alot of them are old and based on a much higher price, generally this is considered a great projector for what it does with its budget price, the most comprehensive review i found which includes an 11 minute video overview of the review for the lazy readers among us is this one below.

http://www.projectorreviews.com/viewsonic/viewsonic-pjd7820hd-projector-reviewrr2/#viewsonic-pjd7820-hd-special-features

Video of the review:
http://www.projectorreviews.com/review-tv/viewsonic-pjd7820hd-projector-video-summary/

Here's what really sealed the deal with me personally! Viewsonic are currently giving away PGD-350 3D Glasses (x2) + X-Men Days of Future Past on Blu-ray 3D!

- Built-in rechargeable battery
- Over 30 hours usage with a single charge
- Stylish and lightweight design for improved comfort
- High refresh rate (144Hz) for wonderfully smooth images
- 178 degree wide viewing angle

I can't find these glasses for less than £70 each! (more most places) & another £20 for the bluray (roughly) so thats £160 worth of FREE stuff with already low price.

All you have to do to get these is buy from either Amazon or Dabs and then fill out this form between 6th November 2014 until 31st January 2015.

http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/xmen/promo.php

Full terms and conditions are also available to click on that page but here's the important part.

PJD7820HD:
Participants who purchase a PJD7820HD from either Amazon.co.uk/PJD7820HD or Dabs.com/PJD7820HD are entitled to claim a free X-Men 3D Blu-ray Disc, and a pair of 3D glasses (PGD-350).

this should help: cold

Yeah i've noticed a lot of people voting cold for exactly that reason, because i said projector deals don't get as much attention on this site, kinda sad for those people but it certainly don't bother me, i had 2 vouchers from bespoke so i got my Christmas present sorted for £389.99 and i'll be watching Christmas films on it with my whole family this time tomorrow and nothings gonna stop me smiling today :D

If i help even one other person to get such a good deal (imo) then that's fine with me.

*SLOW CLAP*

What a pointless contribution. Can't even be bothered to explain why. Teenager, right? Single? Strong in one arm, but weak in the other?

*Ignore button*

Personally, I voted hot. I have a 720p projector, and it's superb... lasted me 3+ years so far. I've been keeping an eye out for a Full HD projector, but I keep holding off on getting one due to the Oculus Rift always looming over the horizon.

Apparently the free blue ray is 2d which seems strange.

Yeah that review is wrong, it's definitely the 3D one which is a £20 Bluray which could be sold on, hell the glasses could probably be sold for £100 easy making this £279.

Brought a projector myself recently, couldn't imagine watching my favourite film on anything else now !

84" screen knocks the spots of my TV !

Heat added from me.

You probably wouldn't need to buy one unless it was used a massive amount and kept in ECO mode
#10
Wasn't this already posted?

Great projector. The 3D on this is amazing, zero ghosting and bright. Actually this projector is to bright even on ECO lamp settings.
It is short throw, so you can get a massive picture from 2-3 Meter.
Got this in November and thanks to OP will apply for the extra's.
The only thing lacking is you don't get much control over HDMI connection, but If your source has image control (like a PC) then that's not an issue.

Thanks for this! Some of the reviews are bad but the bad ones seem to be from proper videophiles that expect alot more from a budget projector, it's great to see someone just say it's a great projector that has its good and bad points.

Heat from me thanks :)

If anyone who buys this wins the trip to dubai I want the second ticket for letting you know about the deal/competition!!! :D

Nice post with lots of info.

I'll be looking to purchase a projector in the Summer if all goes to plan.

The brand Viewsonic, sounds a bit naff, but I take it they are a good tech manufacturer ?

better than buying a tv with same specs?

This the is projector I have. I got it as an upgrade from an Optoma and I'm very happy with it.

To be fair I rarely use the 3d function but when I have it has worked as expected.

I use this in my living room as my main TV and I love it. I'd like to get a screen but it doesn't really need it. Looks fine on an off white wall.

This is the glasses right!? dammit. for a moment i thought it was meaning the projector :D good price though!

Personally I'm waiting for the Optoma HD141X to come back down to £450

I'm absolutely amazed this has got heat so well done.

I recently bought the hd141x at black friday and love it.

Can't imagine watching films on anything else now.

If you enjoy your films get a projector without a doubt

Hows this compared to Optima HD26

I posted a great deal for a projector - then again I might of thought o why bother.... Adding heat and agree with you.

Looks good thanks, would a 120inch screen be suitable?
Do i adjust the size to match the screen by moving the projector away from the screen?

they say 100" to 120" screens are most popular

for this projector, you would need a throw distance of 3.45m to get 120" size image

Merry Xmas to me! I just purchased one. Thanks for all the info.
Is this screen suitable or anything better at similar price?

Again thanks.

Well deserved heat :) Not many projector deals on here. Must resist :D Will magnolia color wall will be fine or do I need a screen or repaint the wall? :|
#34
I'd like some to explain their cold votes, I bought this myself today and id appreciate any constructive criticism of the projector, i'm not expecting the most amazing projector for this price point but I bought £500 aside for a new 50" tv and decided a projector was a much better choice.

I honestly wouldn't worry about cold voters. It's actually amazing it's this hot. You said so yourself in the description. Projectors very very rarely go above 100 degrees heat.

I think because it's a projector and maybe a tiny percentage of people own them everyone else just votes cold.

Post a block of cheese which everyone buys for 50p off and it goes mega hot.
