Best I can see this only supports 30Hz (even via DisplayPort) so it wouldn't be suitable for gaming (even though it comes with a free game).

I'd personally suggest something like this Acer:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00LX2J79Y/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

It supports 60Hz over DisplayPort and is £10 cheaper :-)

Glad you pointed this out. I would only buy this if it was a 60hz 4k.
Anything less is pointless especially for a monitor.

With the ViewSonic VX2880ml you get sharp UHD imagery and vibrant colors, but there are better-performing UHD monitors out there for around the same price. The VX2880ml's viewing-angle performance is typical for TN panel and no worse the other midrange UHD monitors I've recently reviewed, but I expected better gray-scale performance and was surprised to find that the VX2880ml does not support 60Hz refresh rates in UHD mode. If you're in the market for a full-featured midrange UHD monitor, check out our Editors' Choice, the Acer B286HK. It's a solid performer and offers advanced color settings, a USB hub, and a fully adjustable stand. It's also around $50 cheaper than the VX2880ml.

30hz "cinematic" rofl.
Gona need those free to shift these, dont even understand why they even bother to make these,4k yet 30hz.

You do realize not everyone is a gamer don't you? 60Hz isn't necessary for everything. I imagine these would still be good for productivity purposes.

at 30hz you do get mouse issues (the mouse appears sluggish).
The only thing I would do with 30 hz is watch movies as the eye doesn't see the issue.
