I preferred the £25 per room with breakfast at £2.50pp deal earlier in the year. That would make it £55 for two nights, plus dinner for two at between £30 - £50 so cheaper than this deal. So long as you get a nice room, and access to the leisure club this isn't too bad a deal but I find the hotels can be a bit hit and miss.

they do really good breakfasts

I've good experience of staying in Village hotels before, I remember the breakfasts being especially good. If you have a couple of older children with a healthy appetite, the four of you can put away a lot of breakfast - especially if you go for a swim first. :)

I had the same deal as in comment 1 for valentines weekend-much better deal!! If the kids have to come along then this would be a decent price

What's with all this pp/pn nonsense? It's £130 or more (depending on where you are), for two nights with up to 2 adults and 2 children. Simple.

You can't rock up on your own and expect to pay half or quarter fare, so don't present it like that. The trogs that don't understand will be misled and the rest of us can do the division.

you cant get 4 people in their rooms! unless you like being very very friendly and sleep 2 to a single

If you believe Hull deserves the accolade of European Capital of Culture 2017 it might be a safer bet at £130 than paying £140 for a weekend in Warrington which did have a bit of culture on the doorstep until they closed the Ski yoghurt factory in Northwich!

Clicked hot
but....from....
£220 at Bournemouth
and club is £260
was £40 a night earlier this year for club, I booked 7 Saturdays this year.
Excellent hotel.

We've stayed at 4 Village Hotels this year, with mixed results.

The modern hotels are fantastic but smaller rooms in general.

Edinburgh is great - the Scottish Rugby team were based there when we we there.
Chester is old and could do with a refurb but one of the family rooms we stayed in was big enought to have a party in.
Ashton was excellent, Cheadle less so.

Breakfasts are superb value on the £2.50 deal but have gone down hill quickly from last year and looking back over the last few years they used to be brilliant.

The evening meal menu is a joke with only about 5 main courses and pretty damn expensive.

Drinks are extortionate - but it's a hotel so to be expected. Sign up for the Red Card deals which gives cheaper beer during the weekend.

We prefered the £25 room deals and stocked up on them for the year but might be tempted to add another weekend away.

I think you have to book a room for 4 if you want to be sure that you get a room that sleeps 4 people.

Poor booking system for a family deal, and buried amidst loads of small print on the final booking page is their own definition of child 2-12 if you bother to click on the link. Very disappointing!

Yes, under 12 is a bit poor - but i don't think they check birth certificates. ;)

It's self check-in so no one is going to ask for details of ages

Yes need to choose 4 and then changes to a family room. Good deal but says "kids eat and stay free" but price goes up slightly ( from standard room to family room) so kids pay a little to stay ( pedantic I know). Thanks

We stayed at Coventry (good hotel / facilities) on the £25 deal earlier this year. HOWEVER, it was an extra £15 per room for each child. As we have 2 children, we saved £5 by having 2 rooms with an adjoining door.

yep I found this, that's if you can find a room for 2 nights. so its a lie kids don't stay free do they

Most rooms have sofa beds in them, just dont tell them kids are staying! This big souless hotels have no clue whose staying in them half the time, you can come and go as you please.

I stay n the village a lot for work, and even from the outset have never been asked to show ID to use the gym - i reckon an outsider could easily just use the gym regularly for free!
#25
Cost me an extra tenner to add the kids.

Out of principle I thought I'd give them a call and ask why. They said it's because you are paying for the room type which becomes a larger family room as standard rooms will not sleep 4. It's a little misleading from their headline rate, however it's not much of an increase and is still a very good deal. I booked anyway.

Its amazing how irritating £5 a night extra can be..... but they did say kids stay free which is untrue . I booked as well but will niggle I was tempted to call them out as well! anyone else would not mind but proper hukder wants the bargain they promised!

Stayed at Hull a few times, it's ok

Just come back from the Village Hotel in Watford (for Harry Potter Studio tour!!!!). The hotel was one of the best i've stayed in, and at £25 for the room plus £5 for wife and I to have breakfast it was outstanding value. Hope their other hotels are as good, as I will be favouring these over a Travelodge from now on.

I think technically they do stay free.. but to get a room for 4 guests they add gym access on which is the extra tenner?

They get arsey when you try to add kids and will charge you per child per night for the pleasure even if you have booked a family room

Be careful, there are not many good ones, they make Premier Inns look 5 star, and you can normally find a better deal, location, and much better rooms with Premier. Village....think Budget Travelodge.

Which ones in particular please so we can avoid them?

The Blackpool one has a heated outdoor pool, which is actually very pleasant, even in this cold weather!

I stay there. It's usually £129 a night unless you book insanely far in advance. Village hotels are not comparable to Travelodge!

Quality deal if you are taking kids too. The leisure pool will keep them busy for a few hours and them eating for free is a real bonus. You have the rest of the day to head out somewhere on a full stomach ready for coming back for an evening meal. It's by no means Malmaison... but my kids will love this as a base for a few days. If my kids are happy...I'm happy, s
o for that reason, I'm voting this hot.

Booked up for family of 4 for 2 nights in Liverpool, £150 with the first night meal and breakfasts, nothing else available close to the price and for what you get, hotness increased, thanks for posting

I was about to book a 2 night stay when I noticed that children had to be under 12 .... that's odd as always considered my 14 year old to still be a child too. Not booked.
