That one's not available online at present, but might still be in stores. :)

Home bargains closed in Norwich & became a 99p store. I guess it was too expensive for Norfolk folk.

I know I posted this deal before yesterday's other viners one, but the other is cheaper, at least for the plastic handled sets. .. don't know why this is now hot.:|
The anti-viners brigade will be along soon though to cancel out the hot votes. ;)

The reasons there's an 'anti-Viners brigade' are simple.

They sell very poor quality products by trading on the old Viners name - when Viners genuinely was a quality brand. They use fake RRPs like these (It's the Lemon set pictured that is £5.99 (RRP £30). The other sets are £8.99 (RRP £44): Coral, Cardinal and Cloud) to deceive people into thinking they're getting a bargain, when actually they're selling their cheapo quality stuff at the price it normally sells at.

The annoyance and disappointment felt by people when they receive their Viners products can be witnessed in pretty much every Viners thread that ever appears.

I posted this deal without having read any other Viners thread, but I have since.

I posted thinking it was a good price, and I can't find these particular sets cheaper.

I myself have not got any, as I am so cheap I buy the own brand value sets from supermarkets, but if I see a deal I think other members will benefit from I post it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect yours.

Thanks for the info. I wondered why these were so cheap considering i had a set brought by my grandma about 8 yrs ago and it cost about £100. The set is still going strong today.

Believe me, I'm certainly not getting at you - just Viners! They're catching people out every day. And your supermarket sets will be every bit as good as Viners - probably better. ;)

The 'old' Viners was a quality brand. Good quality Sheffield cutlery - lasted indefinitely. The 'new' Viners, however, is imported tat and it's cheap, nasty stuff. That wouldn't be so bad, but they stick high RRPs on it to make it look as if it's worth more than it actually is - then they sell it at the real price and people think they're getting a bargain. They're not.

They may be cheap but they're also indescribably rubbish.
I was tempted by the Viners name and bought a set, what a mistake.
You'd be better off with plastic cutlery.

I bought a set (purple) last year and still use them I thought they were good quality personally but I'm no expert...

Probably won't last aslong as the cutlery handed down to me from my gran/mom but its looks good and matches my dinning set.

I bought 36 pieces of Viners cutlery from one of the previous deals and had the misfortune of using and subsequently putting it in the dishwasher for the first time last night (it is "dishwasher safe") - the whole lot went straight in the bin after it came out covered in rust. Had I not paid very little for it I'd be pursuing Viners for a refund.
