Virgin £5.00/month Mobile Broadband Deal

From Monday 3 November, Virgin Media is to offer a £5 per month mobile broadband package (1GB) to customers with L or XL cable broadband or ADSL "Bundle 1."

Customers on Virgin Medias Size M cable broadband package or ADSL "Bundle 2" can get the deal for £10 per month.

The USB modem has a one-off cost of £25 while usage over the 1GB allowance is charged at 1.46p per MB.

"Our 1GB mobile broadband is great for people who need home broadband but also want access to the internet on the move," said Graeme Oxby, Virgin Media's Managing Director for Mobile. "The bundle is exceptional value and offers complete peace of mind, not only because it comes from genuine broadband experts but also because it offers the safety net of considerably cheaper rates if customers go over the monthly data allowance."

£25 to buy the modem plus £5/ month for 1gb and £14.60 per gb after the first?
should this even be posted as a deal? I think NOT this is colder than the temperature outside!
Not to mention you have to be an existing customer to qualify for the deal.

I think some more details are needed b4 voting..........the link does not explain:whistling:

1GB would take no time to use up and at £14.60 per GB kills it for me and most people I should think. Cold.

This is basically the exact same as the 3 mobile offer and yet everyone lapped that up and diss virgin. Makes no sense. If you have the package required and require a cheap mobile broadband connection this is as competitive as it gets.

Yes I took the 3 mobile broadband £5/month deeal for my Dand it was just great for him as he only uses half a gig or so a month for email and online forums etc, but now he has moved teh reception is terrible.

If only I could get out of the 3 contract, I would get this for him as I am a Virgin XL customer

Think yourself lucky, I got the 15gb 3 mobile dongle for £15 a month and I cannot get reception at all where I needed it and am stuck paying for 18 months while it sits there doing nothing. They won't let me downgrade either and they declined quidco to boot. Happy days.

Had to get a vodafone one.

Can this be used on phones, e.g the iPhone or similar?

Must admit have not tried to cancel but try my luck with 3 as he is in Merseyside and is supposed to be in a turbo area. He does get a signal of sorts but its up and down faster than....well on and off all the time

I voted the 3 one cold because reception is non existent.

Why not go for the 3 mobile broadband offer ... you can search for the thread.
They are offering 1GB at £5pm and 5GB at £7.50pm with free USB dongle.
I went for the 5GB deal and got mine last week...using it right now :)

Saying that I used to have 3 and their coverage is woeful.
Virgin use the t-mobile 3G service which is superb.
