The Battle of the Penny Movies!

Penny Movies are back. We know you love movies for 1p and this time we're giving you double the fun with TWO Penny Movies each week! From 3rd 30th October, two different Penny Movies will be going head-to-head and it's up to you to decide which film will win. Cast your vote each week just by watching your favourite film. Like them both? That's fine with us - vote twice by watching both films.

The movies will be available for 1p between the dates shown below. To watch them just press Home or On Demand on your remote, go to Movies on Demand, select the Special Offers folder and pick the Penny Movie (or Penny Movies) you want to watch. Then sit back and enjoy!

Be Kind rewind is a Jack Black comedy where he and his mate re-enact famous films because they damaged the tapes. Got some good reviews.

Diving Bell and the Butterfly is a film about a French guy who has a massive stroke and can only communicate by blinking. He wrote the book of the same name (by blinking at letters). Supposed to be good but I'll probably have to give it a miss as I will cry all the way through. Again, I think it got some good reviews.

Of those listed, There Will Be blood is probably the most highly rated. Mr Magorium could have been a good film, but i'ts pretty poor - I cried massively at the end though.

Can you tape these films or do they have an encryption thing on?

Be Kind Rewind stars Jack Black (School of Rock), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) and Mos Def (Rapper).
A lovable loser is stuck in a life that's too small for his big dreams. But when he unintentionally erases all the tapes in a video store where his best friend works, he devises a plan to satisfy the store's few loyal customers by re-creating and refilming every movie they decide to rent.
Some of the film remakes are 80's classic movies such as Ghostbusters, Back to the Future etc. Its a light-hearted comedy

Heat added for the 1p movies from Virgin :-) xx

Pretty sure they are protected. I think it allows recording to tape or DVD of about 1 minute then the picture goes.
