Just signed up for Sky, with all 6 mixes, base BB and unlimited phone calls (free for first 6 months then £5 per month after that), plus a free Sky+ box - £21 a month for 6 months then £26.

Got to be a better deal?! :?

probably not V+, but you'll have to phone them up and aks them, the letter which i received did state one of the ten reasons to switch to virgin media was for the V+ box. But most likerly they are going to be cheap and give you a standard box.

But for the price it is well worth it, normally its 3 for £30.

DONT FORGET QUIDOCO, SO YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF EVEN MORE MONEY £100.:-D

when this was ntl the broadband was brilliant ! download was truly unlimited 24 hours a day (not that i downloaded that much but it was there if i wanted to) but since they rebranded to virginmedia they are a ruthless, lying scumbag of a company.

I am on 4mb package and they are implementing limits to your download speed if you download a demo of xbox live or one of the map packs for your xbox 360 games they will throttle you speed by 50% if on 2mb or 75% if on anything other package 4,10 or 20 mb between the hours of 10am to 3pm and 4pm to 9pm and if you upload a certain amount between 3pm to 8pm they throttle your upload speed by the same ratios.
Bloody disgusting when you consider they are still packing people on to these packages and punishing longstanding current users.
This company is going downhill quickly avoid like the plague they use dishonest working practices.
Not to mention downloading a HDef film from xbox live will probably get you banned from their network since there between 4.5gb and 6gb.

They are trialling 50mb broadband at the moment but I ASK YOU WHY ARE THEY BOTHERING you dont need 50mb download speeds to browse the web do you ? nor do i suppose you need 2,4,10 or 20 mb download speeds either if all your gonna do is browse the web.

I am just wondering wether i should take them to court over this but to be honest i wouldn't know the first place to start so i'll probably leave them after 10 years of mostly terrific service.

well i get 19meg at all times during the day, i am not sure where you got this 3meg from?

If you download 3000Mb or 3Gb your speed between the hours of 4pm to 9pm will be reduced to 5Mb instead of 20Mb are you happy with that ?

but worse still they have just updated the policy and included a peak daytime traffic management between the hours of 10am to 3pm.

So practically anytime during the day if you download more than they want they will slash your speed! its home broadband ffs thats when most people will be using it!!! between the hours of 10am to 9pm

The majority of people wont use it between the hours of 9pm to 10am

So if you want to download Hidef films from xbox live find another broadband supplier If you want to download game demos find another supplier If you watch bbci player programs regularly or stream other tv over the internet best find another supplier.

Virginmedia only want Web Browsers

Blimey... If that's the case how can they call it peak time when, as you say, it's nigh on all time?!?

Cheeky beggars!
