I am an existing customer with virgin and the partner rang and cancelled the XL tv package and we now only have the M (freeview) package :-( I am ringing them today to say that she was supposed to cancel the whole lot and we are moving to sky, i want to push them to see if they will offer this deal to existing customers. Not only that but they have ballsed up our freeview we dont have all the channels ie no on demand, film4, uktv history, ftn, other crap ones ie gems bidtv but most importantly itv4 (as scotlands rugby match is on this tonight!) I am hoping retentions will offer something to keep ourselves with them :-)

£11.00 for phone, total is £15.50.

Fixed for 1 year only.

Speeds are throttled if you go over a certain amount so there are download limits.

I live in the wilds, and was only on 512kb previously, but now get about 1.5Mb, although it does occasionally run a bit slower, but for £10 a month I'm mucho pleased, saving £8/month over the previous deal I was on.

Ordered the wireless router (Netgear dg834gsp) with the deal rather than the free modem as it was at least £10 cheaper than elsewhere. It works fine, but you can't upgrade the firmware as it is locked into the service provider...hmm would just get the free modem if ordering again, and buy a standard NG834.

Other than that, pleased with the deal.

" you can now get our speedy, reliable 2Mb broadband "

What aload of garbage im on 20 meg and lucky to get 50kbs download during the day ,i would urge anyone thinking of going to virgin for internet access to think again or do a google .....Virgin slow speeds .
They have a traffic management system in place also ,im stuck in a contract 10 months to go unless i move house where they can not install because of lack of service in that area wink wink.....looks like i will be moving within the next 7 days if they dont get it sorted as its been 4 weeks now paying for 20 meg and getting 56k .

have to disagree,i was sceptical bout going 2 virgin after being wiv nildram, but tbh its been really gd, im using p2p software and my downloads r flying down,
ping is slighter higher than nildram which is expected, but not that bad tbh.
but for £10 a month inc calls,i would call that a bargain considering was paying £30 for nildram:thumbsup:

I'm on 20MB too, it's not that bad as our limit is 3GB before the traffic managetment comes into force, and we go to about 6MB during the slow down, well I do anyway. If you're getting extremly slow speed I would phone them up..

Hi

I'm with Virgin & the speed throttling would explain a lot, I'm out of a contract period any recommendations - BT / Talk Talk / Tiscali etc.

There must be some problem with your BB. I get 1200kbs all the time on 10mb service. Its brilliant.
