If you are coming to the end of your contract with virgin Media BB, get in contact with them and tell them to match sky's BB and line rental deal at £15 per month. I've just got 12 months BB & line rental for £15 per month for 70Mbps. Cracking deal.

Is that part of a larger package or the internet on it's own?

I've had fibre 50mps for £9 for a year now and on renewal they have offered the same for £13 per month, so not sure how this compares to other deals

Is this 15 pound a month for the internet part of a TV package or is it a stand alone deal for the internet only?

yes choose the leaving virgin option. i was paying £24 a month for 70mbps which was going to go up to £38 per month! They asked why i wanted to leave, I told them it was the price and said i will be joining sky for £15 per month. They said they will price match it.

you won't find anything close to £13 per month with anyone at those speeds. I'd stick with virgin!

This is a stand alone deal for BB only.

Not owned by Richard Branson anymore, owned by Liberty. These are the same people who have just purchased a majority share in Formula 1!

If only I hadn't paid for the line rental saver in August, I would have tried this. :(

virgin didn't agree to price match sky broadband. They said I need to pay £99 line istalation with sky .

Best I could get was £50 good will credit and 2 months line rental refunded (as my line rental saver does not expire till January). Otherwise the contract was £30 for 50MB BB, L/R and basic Tivo. That was after 3 hours worth of calls. This defintely would not match Sky, nor offer me the Black Friday new customer prices.

Sky installation is £25 + £10 for the router. One of my friends tried what I did but didn't work for him - but what did work for him is that he signed up with the sky, Virgin then called him up just to confirm and explained the landline number was being ported over to sky. They asked why he was leaving. He mentioned that it was because of the price and told them skys price is £15 monthly. They matched the price. That was it. He rung sky back up and got refunded for the setup fees he paid for. This will only work if your contract is ending within a couple of weeks.
