We got an unexpectedly good deal from Virgin Broadband at the Ideal Home Show today. I told them I was currently on a 12-month Plusnet deal, paying line rental only (free broadband), and they offered to match my current pricing WITHOUT the need to pay line rental - i.e. £18/month for 12 months unlimited 50Gb broadband, no other fees (free installation, no router charge, includes VAT). Price reverts to £32/month at the end of the 12 month contract, at which point I have the option of cancelling. They also said that they would delay installation until my Plusnet contract ends, while holding the price.
Having never seen a competitive price for a Virgin Media product before I was really quite surprised at how flexible they were on this.

Just had the Virgin door knocker team offering me the same deal so sounds like it will be a national drive to gain customers shame it wasn't the other month when I ended up staying with sky due to poor competitive prices!

Sadly we cannot get Virgin where we live! :(

Not sure if it is the greatest deal - I just signed up with Virgin Media, Fibre, 70mbit, unlimited data - price was line rental only per month (ie free broadband) and c.£75 cashback offer. After contract the price reverts to £24.99/pm.

I went to the Ideal Home Show in Manchester and got this deal:
Full House TV
2 x Tivo Boxes
100 MB Broadband
Line Rental + Weekend Calls
3 Months Sky Movies and Sport
£100 Bill Credit
for £49 a month for 12 months on a 12 month contract

I'm currently with BT for my broadband, but Sky have offered me:
Box Set Bundle
Line Rental
Unlimited Fibre
for ~£32 a month for 12 months
along with 60% off any other TV package I might be interested in.

To be honest, I think I'm going to get Virgin so that I can then get all the cabling in and play them off against each other in the future. I'm interested in Sky Q so it'll be a good opportunity to take a Black Friday deal in 12 months.

psmith.... thx for the news feed apologies I understand what you mean now and we are both in the same camp ...however surely democracy means that we have to allow both sides of the argument etc etc. Just because one doesnt agree with the political direction doesnt mean we should all boycott a brand. What is SKY and BT stance on Brexit ???
