Virgin are completely incompetent when it comes to billing. At the end of my initial 12 month deal with them they promised to give me a rolling monthly contract with 512Mb of data, minutes and texts for around £10 a month.

I took them up on this, but within 4 months I cancelled - call quality is OK (they use T-Mobile's network), and data speeds are OK, but billing is a nightmare. I had to ring their customer services twice over the 4 months to get the data 'add-on' applied to my account as it wasn't all done automatically at the same time.

Good deal if it all works out, but make sure to check your bills and check your online control panel to make sure that the data addon is being applied.

Similar problem, have to call them to get the "Customer loyalty discount" applied as they often miss it off...

Also be warned Virgin will disable your voicemail without telling you if it's not used in a 3 month period as I've just recently discovered to my cost and they won't set up your international roaming even though they'll tell you that they have!

End of the day my experience with 3, Orange, T-mobile and Virgin shows that all of them have annoying issues so just take the cheapest deal you can get out of them and accept that they don't really give a damn about the average Joe Bloggs customer...its' all about the £s....

Got it! Scorching...£8.50/month cheaper than my Mum's current deal with Vodafone, 4 times the any network mins, 4700 texts more, 500mb more data plus the free Virgin to Virgin.

For anyone looking for less minutes there are many cheaper deals around. Checkout the SIMO deal summary for details.

However, if you need lots of minutes then this is BY FAR the best deal around and is VERY hot! Just a shame you need to be a Virgin Media customer to qualify....

Gets some heat from me!

Giffgaff for the win!

Being a Virgin Media customer - I have found their phone deals excellent. My wife is on a £8 contract with 800 mins, 1gb and the usual addons for texts and Virgin to Virgin Calls. The discounts of £17 month are applied each month (without fail) therefore the £8 charge for a £25 tariff at the time. I was with Virgin but they could not offer me my galaxy S2 as it was out of stock so I went to T mobile. My wife never comes close to her usage but for £8 it was a bargain and so cheap especially as we can call home for free as we have a Virgin landline. I am not a Virgin fan boy but this deal seems excellent too. I must admit customer services is dire but i have found if any service is not performing complain in writing. I have had dealings (although not mobile related) and offered 6 months half price subscription in the past.

My daughter has a payg phone from her nan for occasional use. Surely It would be better for me to get her this sim - knowing she can never run out of credit. She could ring home free of charge and £12 a month is cheap. Maybe I could get away with a cheaper sim only deal through virgin if they would cap further expenses - can they do this?

Hot deal though

Rather than that, I get 600 anynetwork mins, 3000 texts and 3000 virgin to virgin for £7.32 per month.

i phoned them up earlier and they quoted this one to me (125 mins) and i said to them about more minutes but data isnt needed and they offered me:-
1100 mins(1thousand 1hundred) 3000texts and no data for £10.

that was for my mum and i personally have 200mins 5000txt,1gb for £5 :)

Im with them already, internet is verrrrry slow loading, except when late at night when the network goes less busy. They claim it defaults to orange however this does not always happen. I cannot wait to leave them. They might be cheap but its not worth the hastle in my opinion. Just a bit of advice-Dont use unless you are prepared to settle for a very slow internet connection.

Despite what they say, you can force your phone to use the Orange signal instead of T-Mobile (Virgin) all the time. I do as the T-Mobile signal is very weak where Iive.

No data then.

He probably means 1gb of data. I have this sim deal too on a monthly rolling contract.
600 any network mins
3000 sms
3000 virgin to virgin mins
1gb data
and free to call my mobile from my Virgin landline.

I never come close to using the allowances but at £7.32 I've no issue.
And I have always found Virgin mobile customer service to be good.

not bad, im paying 7.50 a month for 800 minutes, 3000 virgin to virgin minutes, 3000 texts and 1gb internet. on a 30 day rolling contract.

1100+ min that's gr8 then. My contract comes to an end next month with virgin. Got a call about an early upgrade and they quoted a lot less mins and more price than this. Obviously I said no. Will call them again to cancel my contract and see what they offer as I have bb and home phone with them too. I have to say I have never had a problem with billing or loyalty discounts not bein added unlike others...hope it stays that way!

This also includes free calls to and from virgin landlines.
Just ordered 2 of the £10 per month sims with a Gb of data (for me and the wife). It'll save us a fortune calling each other and calling from home.

The good thing about Virgin is they also give great deals if you threaten to leave. So after a couple of months I'll ring up to cancel and I'd expect at least a £2 per month discount.

Currently paying about £20 for landline, evening and weekend calls and unlimited 20mb broadband. And I've always found the customer service to be pretty good.

I'm an existing landline and broadband cutomer.
If you go to the website http://store.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-mobile/sim-only/pay-monthly.html check the existing customer box it'll show up.

Virgin Media £10.00 - 30 day rolling contract
SIM card cost FREE
Your tariff gives you:
3000 minutes to other Virgin mobiles
250 minutes
5000 texts
1GB Mobile Web

It seems like decent value to me, especially on a 30 day contract and like i say once you are a virgin customer they never want you to leave so i'd expect a discount on this pretty soon.
