Amazing.

Can't believe they let me leave back in August, refusing to knock a penny off the £32.50/month price for 50Mb broadband. Now they're practically giving it away. I'd have been happy with just the broadband for £25.

Got to suffer a year of BT's crap speeds now.

Sorry but COLD.
Its an 18 month contract so you are signing up to a commitment of £479.99 after the credit which is £26.39/month
You are HOPING that after 12 months that they might renegotiate but you still have 6 months remaining!
And VirginMedia are under no obligation yo reduce it.

Can you tell me where it states that it is an 18 month contract? I'm genuinely interested to know where that small print is.

I deleted my post when you listed it was a 12 month contract. You're too damn fast :D

That's OK - I posted it on here just to see if anyone could find any holes in what I think is a good deal! I just ordered it, and there's always a cooling off period, so if there is a catch there's always time to change!

This one only appeared to me when I entered my postcode. Otherwise, the bundle was about £9 per month more expensive. I thought initially that the link was tied to my postcode, but it's generic. Turns out the URL is just slightly diffferent to what you see for the same bundle without first entering postcode.

When i put my postcode in the offer goes up to £23?

Maybe it is location dependant. That said, £23 is still less than the default £29 a month via the usual link. Plus, you can still try the promo code to get the £50 credit.

I want to change the package slightly to add anytime calls but when I click on 'change your order' nothing happens. Any chance you can provide the link to the page where I can edit the package? Thanks

Just had a look at this deal. Comes up at £20 for me and promo code works. Sadly, I can't find any way of adding anytime calls so it is tying me to just weekend calls which is no good for me.

Is anyone able to tweak this £20 package with extras? I can only get it to add anytime calls if I select this package at £29.

I think what you have to do is order the package as it is - then get them to add the Anytime package - might be about £8/month extra on top

Thanks for the info. Will have to give them a call to see if they would do this before ordering, just to be on the safe side.

I will probably give them a call over the weekend. Need to speak to my current provider first to see what they will do for me next year. Also noticed that quidco are offering £40 cashback on the player bundle but the quidco link takes you to the player bundle at £29.

I already had the player bundle in my basket from the original link posted on here and it was still showing in my basket when I clicked through on the quidco link! Don't know if it would be declined or not if I purchase using the quidco link?

Daft question possibly, but is this just for new customers?

Can't really say. I mean, I am a new customer (was with BT for the last 12 months, on what was effectively £17.52 per month), but I guess if you're already a Virgin customer you can only try and negociate, knowning what a new customer could get.

I went for the broadband only option at 18 a month with only a 12 month contract rather then 18, used the £50 promo code which worked and i am now paying £13.84 a month for 50mb broadband, bargain!

Prices may change at any time during the contract.
Minimum term applies to your cable service, check basket for details

There is no mention of contract length until you have given all your details, so someone who has signed up - can they confirm you are not tied in for longer than 12 months??
(No point entering my details, we cannot get it here).

Also missed out this bit from the small print

Installation: An engineer installation fee applies (starting from £40 for standard install).

That pretty much wipes out the cash back, so back to a fraction over £20 p/m for the first 12 months.

What I ordered specifically said this in the confirmation email, as well as in the ordering process:

You've got our Player Bundle
(12 month contract unless specified)

Also, the installation fee is specifically stated as free.

I think either the deal is not available in your area, or you're looking at something else?

If VM install a socket in the lounge for TV, and one elsewhere for broadband .... I know the cable sockets look the same, but are they functionally interchangeable - ie the broadband router could be plugged in either in the lounge socket or the original socket?

Am really only interested in broadband solus, but have no cable currently and am thinking it is best to go for this to get a full installation out of the way, once, and for free. Then I'd have real flexibility on where to place the router.

Says free installation just after you start the order; just scroll down and you'll see it.

There £40 through Quidco and £46 through topcashback. Even if they don't work it's an excellent deal. Have some heat.
#21
Just note, that if you're with someone like BT, you may have to pay a £31 cancellation charge, as I have just learnt.
#22
TiVo v6 4k box is also available now don't forget! Also free manned install at the moment.
#23
This is a very interesting deal op... I wonder if I can delay it until my Plusnet contract ends early next year.
Can confirm that Plusnet charge £30 to move from BT line....grrr.

tivo box is the slowest box in history

That's right, I have one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Both can be used for both TV and broadband, they just add a splitter to the end of the cable if you have both in one room.

This is decent for Virgin Media. However they're a terrible company when it comes to customer service (in my experience). oO

Tivo box is utter rubbish, and Virgin staff are told to tell people its slow because there so much on it, but that's not the reason.
When it was designed Virgin decided to save costs by using a pared down processor which was fine at the time, but now just isn't up to the job.
Slow isn't the right description. Over a minute to wake up 5 - 10 seconds to react to a button push, and worst of all it's incredibly power hungry. There is a way to reduce this on the net by stopping it constantly spinning the disc in standby even when it's not programmed to record anything.

Worse than all that is the vile BBC decided that all HD content has to be encrypted so if you can buy a Tivo box from overseas which will work with the Virgin network then you con't have the encryption issue. (This is not legal though!).

I'm with BT ADSL at the moment and I like BT Sport, anyone know if you can add this to this package for say a fiver a month??
#32
Just thought it was worth mentioning; if you use topcashback, you could get like £100 back. I got £140 back when I took out a 12 month contract. Feel free to use my referral link if you want : https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/j_da . . They take quite a while to pay out, though.

three price increases even during the minimum term agreement (I know you can force an exit, but I'd rather they just honor the actual agreed pricing)... plus virgin media have obnoxiously **** customer service
#34
Don't forget to go through top cashback to get even more money off effectively!

I have just signed up to:

£20 per month
£14.99 activation fee
Fun Bundle which includes:
Fibre optic 50mb
Phone line with evening calls included
Some TV player thing
You do not get any cashback or credit but this works out cheaper than the existing deals. I simply asked the Virgin representative via the Live Chat to 'give me a better deal' and he came out with the above

I've just signed up for this deal but was told the V6 is only for people taking the more expensive packages. Please can someone confirm they are getting a V6 for £20 pm and I'll ask again as I felt I was getting fobbed off.

Hot deal by the way - thanks OP.

yeah, Virgin shady. engineers for months said my service will improve. then customer services say oh no it's going to be slow speeds for another year. over sell their product knowingly, and deny it until your a customer. be l lucky to get 10% of your speeds in the evening in congested areas.
