Choose the moving house option when calling 150 from your landline. The team will make you an offer but you need to cancel and another team will call back with a better offer

I agree that what i told them when talking to them
#13
Op is that subject to price rise in Feb and how long are you in contract for?

Just did mine and got 30
#14
I rang them a few days ago and threatened to leave, hoping for a better deal.
After telling me how much I actually used in the last few months ( I am a heavy user and my brother does a lot of gaming online) they told me to duck off in no uncertain terms.
The worst thing is I only have broadband with them and my mobile number has changed since I signed up and I can't find a way for me to change it online.

Looks like I'm going to have to kiss and make up because only they can give me the speed and service I'm used to.
#15
Yeh if your a heavy user they wont offer you a better deal, they know you wont leave, as nothing out there comes close to virgin speeds.

These are pointless discussions. The
only deal that matters is when YOU ring
up and talk to them.
#23
I've been on to the phone with the team just a couple of hours ago, been a customer since the good old days of Cable, and they've offered me The Big Easy package, which I believe is the M TV, 50MB internet and phone which includes weekend calls for £33.99 a month, which is inclusive of the price rise in Feb.. And I get to keep the TIVO box.
I think I'll call back tomorrow and give my notice to cancel. Hopefully, they callback with a better offer or else I'm up **** creek.
#24
Well keepin the tivo box is not a biggie, as it can only be used as long as your a virgin customer.

I rang virgin back again today to give them my 30 day cancellation notice and the guy tried his best by telling me how great virgin is etc etc but he just wouldn't budge on price from £33.99 for The Big Easy package, which is what you have been given for £25 towercourt.. What I did find interesting was when I asked a couple of days ago for just the telephone and broadband only I was quoted £46 per month and told that it's cheaper to go with The Big Easy package where you get the M TV free and the overall price is cheaper, so it's cheaper to get Telephone, BB & TV for £33.99, but more expensive to get just the Telephone and BB, which was £46. However, today they offered me the Telephone & BB for £24, a massive drop of £22 per month. Still a rip off considering towercourt was offered the Big Easy package for £25 a month.. Plus the guy had the cheek to tell me I've been with them for 11 years and 9 months and it's a good deal he's offering me. I put in the cancellation request and my services are due to disconnect on 29th Jan 2015. Hopefully I get a all from retentions for a better deal or else I go to sky

He also said if you give me the account number of the deal you are referring to ill match it, but without that I can't do anything.

Mine is not big easy pack as i have got only weekend calls that to only uk land line and M tv

If you are intrested in only broad band 50 mb and phone line only weekend call tell them i can get that price by going through uswitch even the new cust can. So tell him to give better package yesterday she told me for 16.50 for only broad band and phone line when intially she quoted me 19.99.

Uswich deal
£4 for 6 months, £17.50 thereafter. Line rental £16.99. £55 of with code: USWITCH55

(4*6)+(17.50*6)+(16.99*12)-55= 277.88 /12 = 23.15
If you pay land line in advance it will bring it down to 18.

You should tell them that the deal what he is giving he can buy it online give me something better .

I was offered 26.99 i told her i need time , she asked is it ok if she call me back tomorrow she can hold deal for one more day.

Initally i was intrested in only broadband but to make me spend more she added tv and got it down for 25. Its always worth telling few cash back web while talking like quidco and other and few lie as if you can buy the deal what they are giving you can buy it anytime online. Give it a go still you got long time for disconnect the service with them. Mine was about to expire mid on jan.
Dont agree for their rubbish offer initally what they tell you . i m sure they will come down.
Once you like the offer ask them what else they can give on top. She will tell i need to ask manager. If she comes empty hand tell one of your friend got a month credit as well.
I hope it helps you

That's cool mate, I wouldn't ask for account details, I did explain to him that only a family member would give you those details, not a colleague.
I could live with just phone and bb. But if adding TV gives me value then I will.
Right ok, so try getting them to match BT. Do you know if BT is the cheapest currently?

The big easy gives you only weekend calls, and I thought it only gave the M TV package.

Thanks a lot for the info and advice towercourt, I do appreciate it. There's a lot to play with now so let's wait for the phone call. The guy on the phone today kept telling me that they can only give the best discounts, and that was it. Frustrates me that they've been ripping me off for almost 12 years, and the first time I ask for a better discount they try to fob me off.

Through uswitch bb and tv ( why £10 deal because its 38mb and lowest vm is giving is now 50mb nearest to what they provide and unlimited usage. There is one more for £7.50p/m but its 17mg virgin media cs will start say ours is 50 mg and so on)

£10a month + Line Rental – £16.99 a month or £169.90 for 12 months in advance + £30 Activation Charge
+£125 sainsbury gift card

Woks out 16.24 if you pay 12 month in advance.
Get it price matched and thgen ask for something on top what else she can give. Let her come up with something or else you tell her my friend got one month free credit.

:p i hope if that helps in any ways.
#36
Just worked out same package with tv and one off payment for land line coming up £225.85+£15p/m
Even though i clicked basic stuff there was £19 tv activation charge and i mentioned thast i ve got line no need yo add new one. So it different for each person. It woks out £33.82. ( which doesnt include sainsbury gift card of £125)

:) lot of math for one day .good night and happy christmas....
#37
Thank you buddy. Appreciate it. Certainly a lot of math for one day. I'll sit tight for them to call me back.

interesting to see what people are getting I'm paying 33 quid now for

for ,
multi talk 150
xl phone
m tv / tivo box
30mg bb

just had a letter saying there putting it up 5 quid something in feb and five pound loyalty bonus comes off at the same time so my bill will be over 43 quid, too much considering i hardly use the phone and the tivo box is just gathering dust most of the time , hardly get used.

Even if you are middle of the contract because you got the letter you can call and say you want to leave the service and get something better like 50bb i did it in middle of contract. Check it will not go as new contract again. Sometime it will not because you are quaified for it.
